She is also a member of the Government Alliance on Race and Equity.
Executive Board Member Bio Yvette Williams grew up in Richmond, California, a city nestled in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from the last class of Harry Ells High School, Ms. Williams later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia where she studied International Business Administration. Among the many great memories and accomplishments acquired, Ms. Williams is most proud to have devoted time to stu...dying abroad where she earned a Global Leadership Certificate from the University of the Virgin Islands. Grounded with a solid education, Ms. Williams entered the workforce with high energy and enthusiasm for positive change. In her career opportunities thus far, Ms. Williams has always believed in giving back to her community and has been passionate about helping others progress. As a person with strong administrative, communication and management skills, Ms. Williams is a magnet to knowledge and information that she freely passes on to those who request her support. This is reflected in her willingness to mentor young adults who show potential and desire for growth and upward mobility. She has been a guiding light on the path of success for many as they master their skills and enter into their desired careers. Ms. Williams returned to the Richmond community after being away for 10 years and hit the ground running. She quickly reinvested in her community and was active among community organizations in order to really make a difference and be part of measurable change. Richmond is fortunate for her return as she continues to make a profound impact in the community. Yvette Williams currently works for the Literacy for Every Adult Program (LEAP) with the City of Richmond. Ms. William’s professional insight is invaluable as she reaches out to Richmond residents who are attempting to improve their lives in every aspect of the spectrum. Through her previous career working for a Member of Congress, she built key relationships within the Richmond community and continues to forge new relationships as she embraces the power of networking. Her impactful contributions are complemented by Williams’ joy of reading, journaling, and spending time with her family and friends. She believes that a strong community is one filled with individuals who read for knowledge and empowerment. See more
