Is Way Back Wednesday a thing? Can we make it a thing? Anyways! This Wednesday we’re throwing back to our 2019 production of The Nutcracker! Featuring one of our lovely dancers AND one of the several new party girl costumes we made that year!

Today is the last day to get your Claras Winter Walk Garb! Not only will you get awesome march, but you will also be supporting NWB as we gear up to film this fun new ballet!

This month our posts are going to look a little different than usual. We will be continuing with our throwback videos on Fridays but Monday-Thursday we will be highlighting a different dancer, each in a different level, as part of our 12 Days of Dancers Campaign. As many may know we have a charitable foundation associated with the studio New West Ballet Foundation. They help us put on shows, fundraise, and, most importantly, they offer scholarships to dancers in need. It is our hope that this season, if you are able, you consider donating to the New West Ballet Foundation to help give dancers in need scholarships.

Order for pickup (using our code KEBX2TX) or eat in-store at the Chipotle on Grand Ave in San Marcos (must be that specific location!) between 4-8, show the flyer at the time of order, and the New West Ballet Foundation will get a portion of the proceeds! Low-stress dinner and it supports a great cause? Sign me up twice!

Remember when we used to be able to make dancer trains backstage before we went onstage to perform? Remember when we used to be able to do that? Remember?! Ahh, the good ol’ days.

This weeks #FlashBackFriday is to our 2017 production of #AliceInWonderland. One of our favorite things to do is to take our productions to some of our local retirement communities! This is allows us to give back to our community and spread our love of ballet. A win/win! We had 2 performances lined up for summer 2020 that were postponed, but we can’t wait until we can go back!

This weeks #WhatBalletWednesday is here! This ballet first found its legs many years ago, but we brought it back a couple years ago. Let us know your best guesses and we’ll let you know if you’re correct!

To the greater New West community - we need assistance! Ms. Coral is looking for felt/wool-based or sun hats to make bonnets for the dancers. If you have a sun hat or felt/wool hat similar to these lying around and are ready to part with them, please consider donating to us. We have to bonnet 19 dancers. Pictured is Ms. Coral's daughter in a bonnet she has started for example of what we are making with them. They will include ribbons, lace, and flowers for decor and will be used in the ballet Les Patineurs (all about ice skaters) which is part of our filmed winter production. Thank you for considering gifting. The dancers thank you in advance too!!!

Calling all New West Families (or just those who love Chipotle)! On Saturday October 24th we will be having a fundraiser at the Chipotle at 575 Grand Avenue in San Marcos between 4-8pm! Either order online/through the app for pickup or show this flyer at the counter in-store when you order and the New West Ballet Foundation will get a portion of the proceeds. You can either print out a copy of the flyer (or pick one up at the studio next time you are there) or show them a cop...y of the digital flyer on your phone. No worrying about if you've left the flyer at home or not! The New West Ballet Foundation has generously helped us with: the purchasing of new marley (both travel and in-studio), a rack to hold said marley and has also sponsored shows. In addition to all of that the NWB Foundation also grants scholarships to dancers to help reduce the financial barrier to ballet. So don't worry about what to make for dinner on 10/24, Chipotle has ya covered - just head (safely) out the door!

However, the best things aren't always the easiest and ballet is one of the best!

As a reminder for those wanting to participate in this year’s winter production, Clara’s Winter Walk, signups must turned in by midnight TOMORROW, October 2nd. This year’s performance opportunity will be film based. The google signup form has been emailed out. This week for #FlashBackFriday in honor of our 40th Nutcracker season we have Chinese Tea from 2010! The lovely dancers in this rendition are Alexandra Morrison and Bret Yamanaka with Katie French, Brook Gunn, Danielle Rajsky. 2010 is also the year that the dragon made his glorious debut! Anybody know the *name* of the dragon?
