What a year... For those of you who follow our little band of gypsies, sorry for going quiet the last 6 months. This hasn’t felt like the right time to boast or humble brag about any achievements this year but New School has surprisingly, and thankfully, been doing great all things considered. 2020 ain’t over yet, but cheers to everyone sticking with the grind against all odds. Friends: As we at New School have been asking ourselves what part we can play (however small) in helping to counteract the disenfranchisement that has stymied the black community for decades, we are offering our business services, for FREE, for the remainder of this year to any black-owned (or aspiring) restaurant or bar. This will include: Concept Development, Market Analysis, Financial Planning, Spatial and Schematic Planning, Menu Engineering, Design Direction (Graphic & I...nterior), HR and Training Support. These services will continue to be offered at discount beyond 2020, and we're eager to share a venture-funding initiative, with a non-profit grant component for minority-owned businesses, in the coming months - stay tuned. Our bandwidth is not unlimited so we will likely prioritize on a first-come-first-served basis, but our goal is to assist to the largest extent possible. Challenging times reveal the true character in us all. Our beloved hospitality industry which employees 2 out of every 10 working American is hanging by a thread and tethered only by the indomitable willpower of its hardworking staff and the charity of our loyal patrons.
