What an incredible day we had yesterday worshiping together for the first time at our new, New North SF location! If you didn’t have a chance to make it in for services we want to encourage you to make your calendars for June 6th when we officially begin to regather again!

It’s through Christ, who gave up his life on the cross, that we understand what it means to lay down our control. Instead, we are to use our power, authority and influence to fulfill the greatest commandment: to love God and others.

We grieve with the families who lost their loved ones to the VTA light rail shooting yesterday in San Jose. What senseless, acute loss. We pray God would comfort you with the riches of His grace and give you peace that surpasses all human understanding. We also lament with those in our community who are scared. We have work to do as a nation to prevent these horrendous events from happening, but for the people of God, our hope is not in the changing of earthly circumstances but in the final triumph of Jesus Christ. When we are afraid, we put our hope in Him. He promises he will strengthen us, help us and uphold us with His right hand. And we pray together, Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus.

Everlasting is a big term that can make us feel small. Father is an intimate term that often makes us feel cared for and seen. Isn't is amazing that we are seen by a God much bigger than us, isn't it amazing that we have an EVERLASTING FATHER? For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Who's ready for Christmas Eve? It may be different this year but still special nonetheless. Let's head back to the start and celebrate the birth of Christ!

The term mighty in Mighty God refers to a military champion who is always victorious and is used in the Old Testament in reference to everyone from Gideon to Goliath. Our God, Jesus, is strong in battle, always victorious- our trustworthy protector who fights off our foes, and destroys all our enemies.
