10 years ago I became a mom and began the journey I thought I was put on earth for. But it turns out it wasn’t and it was an extremely challenging transition and has continued to be to this day. After experiencing my life saving experience with a group of new moms after Jack was born, I realized the power of sisterhood and the absolute need and importance of it postpartum. When we moved to OC in 2012, I noticed there weren’t any mom groups that were like what I had experien...ced myself and I felt called to create one. Well, my little side project mommy and me program grew like wildfire and further confirmed my feeling that it is so needed and necessary. Prior to covid, we had served over 3,000 moms and babies, ran 18 classes & support groups per week across two studios in our building in Newport. Because of Covid, I have had to close one of the studios, class sizes are reduced by 40% for safety precautions, and we can’t offer a number of our classes. So here we are and NMS is struggling. What you don’t see behind the scenes is our Facebook group for class members who come together day after day supporting each other and helping families and organizations in need constantly. But today it ends up being me that needs the support. One of our amazing moms created a fund for New Mom School (link below) so we can keep our doors open and keep helping new moms! If you feel inclined to help me with my continued vision and mission, it would be so appreciated! My work saves me on a daily basis from the challenges that motherhood presents for me and I can’t imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life! Thank you thank you thank you!
