New Life Burbank (PCA)

Dear members and friends, New Life Burbank has cancelled our Sunday Services for March 15, 2020. We believe this is in the best interest of loving, serving, and protecting our community as well as the many other people that our church shares space with. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble! Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea." Psalm 46:1-2

Yesterday was a great day at New Life! We welcomed five new members into our congregation, Pastor Jeff preached from Luke 1 on how the gospel overcomes our doubts and disappointments, and we finished with the Lord’s Supper and a time of fellowship.

Hey friends, the preaching ministry of NLB is now available as a podcast! It’s a great way to catch up with any messages you might have missed, or get an extra dose of gospel teaching mid-week!

The word mercy encompasses so much. Its to desire goodness, kindness and faithfulness, rather than to sacrifice for the sake of being righteous. The acknowledgement of God is more than just admitting His existence. Its the idea of sitting quietly before the Great Teacher and fearing Him because in Him we find the fullness of goodness, kindness, faithfulness, forgiveness and justice. In Him we find Jesus, the one who offered Himself up as a burnt offering to atone for our sins.

What are earthly things? Read Colossians 3:5-11 What are the things above? Read Colossians 3:12-17... This is the ongoing struggle for the Christian, but thank God that despite it all, our life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ appears, we will shed this body of corruption and we will appear in glory just like Him. Amen and Hallelujah!

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20

Anything we can do helps!

Friends! This Sunday New Life Burbank is celebrating our 17th anniversary as a church!! We will be having worship outdoors at Brace Canyon Park in Burbank followed by a picnic and games. Remember - Don't show up at our usual time and place or you will be sad and lonely! Come to the park at 10 AM instead!!

There are plenty of opportunities to serve as missionaries. It isn’t just limited to being a Pastor. Teaching, leading, serving, etc. Simply put, we need people who are willing to serve. As we reflect on how we can serve, we pray for those who are currently serving. #missionarymondays

The Lord desires his people to trust in Him with childlike trust. We are strengthened when we trust. When we trust we can move through life feeling safe, loved, and guided. #trust
