Our Competitive program, ELITE Soccer, will be holding tryouts from January 4th through January 14th. On August 29th, Oakland Roots will host and broadcast a special Justice Match presented by Fremont Bank. The Justice Match will feature Roots players mixed into two teams with retired local women's professional players and local women’s soccer ambassadors both playing and coaching. The ambassador list includes United States World Cup veteran Aly Wagner, former Afghanistan captain Hailai Arghandiwal and Oakland street baller and Cal soccer Hall of Famer Dania Cabello. The ...purpose of the match is to advance the discussion of gender and racial equity, and justice. The match will feature a pre-game performance from Oakland’s own Grammy award-winning artist Fantastic Negrito. The Justice Match will be broadcast on www.oaklandrootssc.com/roots-live-2020 with an official kickoff at 5:10 PM. Hello NEWARK CUP Families, please see images for the Newark Cup 2020 Elementary School Tournament Schedule and Field Map, please also read the following field rules: The City of Newark (who owns the turf fields) has established important rules for using them. Please be sure to respect these rules as we use the fields for Newark Cup. Our hope is that by providing this communication to our teams prior to the game, it will eliminate the embarrassment of a Field Marshall asking ...anyone to leave the facility if they are found to have prohibited items. Food, beverages, gum, sunflower seeds, nuts, candy and sports drinks are strictly prohibited within the gated turf fields. Glass bottles/containers are not allowed. ONLY WATER IS ALLOWED. No metal cleats allowed. No staked chairs, umbrellas, tents, flags or other outdoor furniture allowed on turf fields. Nothing may be staked or anchored into the turf. Signs and banners are not allowed to be posted on fences, gates or poles. Dogs and pets are not allowed within gated turf fields or on any grass field during permitted sporting activities Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, scooters and other conveyances are not allowed. Spectators must wear appropriate footwear. No high-heels. Thank you and Good Luck to all of our Newark Schools!
