Newark Mile virtual livesteam 2020!

Hello Newark Milers! Given we are not able to gather in person for the Newark Mile this year, we are going to be coming together for a FREE virtual run! Here is how it'll work: -Run a 4k (2.5 miles) on your own at any time before end of day September 19. (Not sure how to track your distance? Run twice around the Newark Lake, 10 times around a track, or use your favorite GPS running app.)... -At 10am: We will be streaming live on the Newark Mile facebook page! Feel free to tune in to our poor attempts at witty commentary and entertainment as we traverse the 4km course. We stream a formal race start if you'd like to start your own run at the same time as us. -Submit your result. We will send out a link to a form as well as post it on newarkmile.org where you can submit the time for your run until the end of the day on September 19. (The form will be posted around September 12.) -Share your photos! We want to see your photos or video clips! Email them to [email protected], post them on the Newark Mile facebook page, post them on your favorite social media with #newarkmile. We'll get together a slideshow of everything we get/can find. We hope we can still have some fun and create some memories with this year's Newark Mile! Also make sure to save the date for the 2021 Newark Mile on September 18, 2021. Please note, if you have already registered for the 2020 Newark Mile, we will automatically transfer your registration to the 2021 Newark Mile for you.

It has been officially announced that there won't be any live events for Newark Days 2020. However, we will still be organizing a virtual version of the Newark Mile 4k! We are still ironing out the details, but here is what we know: -It will be free to participate -It will be centered around our previously scheduled date of Saturday, September 19. ... Stay tuned for more details!

The 2020 Newark Mile is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 and you can register now at the link below! We are closely monitoring COVID-19 and its possible impact on the Newark Mile for 2020. Rest assured that any paid registration for the 2020 Newark Mile will automatically be transferred to the 2021 event with the option of a full refund if we're not able to run the race on September 19. Our top priority is the safety of runners, volunteers, spectators, and the community at large.
