If you have a grasp of Nevada County History and you are interested in helping the Nevada County Historical Society identify literally thousands of unidentified photos we need to sort through, we'd love to have your help. Contact Pat Chesnut : [email protected] or call her at the Museum @ 265-5910 and talk to her about your historical interest and when we get a stack of photos that need identifying according to your interest, we will call you to see if you can help us out. The Underground Gold Miners Museum in Alleghany has a Collection by W.H. Weldon that has a lot of Grass Valley photos of the 1895 era including mines. It's a treasure trove, so I will probably be sharing quite a few of them. This photo is of Dorsey & Co's Team, photo taken by C.M. Weldon in 1895.

This is an interesting photo of a couple of players from the "Nevadas" Baseball team. We have no record of this team, and interestingly the glass plate negatives with this and other images were found in an attic of a building which housed "Moore Photo Studio" at some point in history. We believe these to be a local team, but have no direct confirmation. Does anyone have any information regarding the people in the photo or any information about the Nevadas Baseball team? Photo # GP Comstock 44.
