It’s unanimous: Final, amended version of AB 2257 passes state Senate on bipartisan 39-0 vote. Thanks to all the practicing interpreters and translators and Cal...ifornians who worked hard to protect our professional livelihoods in this bill. Together we earned this victory. Bill now goes to Assembly tonight for concurrence on Senate version. #AB2257 #CALinguists #LanguageAccess #Translators #Interpreters See more
Our new lease on livelihoods: AB2257 provides a clear basis for most professional linguists to operate in California. Translators, named in Professional Service...s, and interpreters, recognized in Referral Agencies, can use this explanatory memo to make sense of the terms of the cleanup legislation. Now in final form, AB 2257 is due to pass both chambers and be signed by the Governor next week. As urgency measure, it will take immediate effect. See more
