Northern California Badminton Club 08.07.2021

Hello everyone, Gym status update: Since our region's stay-at-home order has been lifted, we have been getting questions about our reopening.... While we are looking forward to reopening the gym, the main goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone to enjoy badminton. According to the health department we are still in the midst of Covid surge, it is best for us to wait a little before returning to the courts. We will keep on monitoring and have everyone updated, hope we can see everyone in the gym soon!

Hello Everyone It was nice seeing many of you back to the gym for the past 2 weeks. Many of you already know the gym will be under new leadership, but the original gym founders are not going far, they are still around for support and advices, and of course smashing birdies with us from time to time. Our badminton community wouldn’t exist without them. Upcoming November, with inputs from many of you, we will have a new trial schedule and pricing for the gym. Court rental price... is $40/hr for non member and $32 for members. Since we are not selling membership during Covid, everybody gets the member pricing. A new open play session is also available, the price will be $10 for the entire session. The gym is still capped at 10% capacity, a new reservation system is coming, but in the mean time, please reserve using the google sheet or in person at NCBC to guarantee your spot. Amid the rising Covid cases in other parts of the country, the gym will employ additional measures to ensure everyone’s safety. We ask everybody that comes in to check temperature, and mask is required when off the badminton courts. Please put on a mask as soon as possible once you finish play. Sanitizer will be provided and we will also increase the ventilation at the gym. 11/1 - 11/14 Gym hours Sun: 1PM - 7PM (Court Rental), 7-11PM (Open Play) Mon: 4PM - 10PM (Court Rental) Tue: 4PM - 7PM (Court Rental), 7-11PM (Open Play) Wed: 4PM - 7PM (Court Rental), 7-11PM (Open Play) Thu: 4PM - 7PM (Court Rental), 7-11PM (Open Play) Fri: 4PM - 7PM (Court Rental), 7-11PM (Open Play) Sat: 10AM - 9PM (Court Rental) Here is the sign up sheet for next 2 weeks, have fun and be safe! https://docs.google.com//1_wjr1xT0OGRATvK8hN8eb6i-6G/edit

Hello Everyone, I have some good news to announce. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it looks like Northern California Badminton Club will be able to continue, just with some new faces leading the way. The new owners wish to remain anonymous at this point in time, but this change will take into effect by the end of the month. Look for more announcements to come and thank you all for your continued support, lets keep the community going strong!

Hello Everyone, General Reminder: if you feel ill or exhibit any symptoms of COVID, please do not come. We are going to do a 2-week trial of our reservation system starting on 10/13/2020. We will be open Tuesday through Sunday on both weeks and be open from 6PM-11PM.... Governor's orders show that we are only allowed 10% capacity, which we have determined to be roughly 25 people. As such, we are only able to open 4 courts. We are allowing reservations of 2 hours maximum to try to accommodate. We will allow 6 people per court maximum, no guests please. We are pricing this at $40/hour/court. If you have a card that expired after July 13, 2020 turn in your card for a one time: Punch Card: $5 off a reservation Monthly Card: $10 off a reservation Yearly Card with 3 plus months left: $40 off a reservation. Each tab on the sheet is a different day, except the first tab. The first tab is a partial example of how the sheet should be filled out. Once you fill out the google excel sheet, please send me an email at [email protected] with the names of the people that will arrive and also the time you reserve. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. Any questions may go to that email as well, thank you. Here is our google excel sheet: https://docs.google.com//1_wjr1xT0OGRATvK8hN8eb6i-6G/edit

Hello Everyone. A lot of people have been asking the status of the gym since Sacramento county has been demoted to Purple Covid tier today. NCBC has been getting guidelines from the CA Dept of Public Health. Per their guideline NCBC falls under the sub-category Non-professional and amateur sports, in which we follow a different guidance than general fitness center and gyms. NCBC is allowed to stay open with increased ventilation and modification.... With the increased ventilation and cold weather, remember to wear warm clothes while waiting. And as always, practice social distance and mask up in the waiting area! See you all in court!

It is the same $10 per person. All players in these sessions must stop their game at 7:00PM to make room for the next group. See you guys in the gym!... Hello everyone, I have seen that the govenor is allowing gyms to reopen at 10% capacity. We are trying to figure out the logistics of operating at such a low population rate in order to comply. I know that everyone is itching to play, however please bear with us while we figure something out. Thank you.

Hi Everyone, As you may know, the gym is still closed for the time being. It does not look like the shut down orders are going to be lifted anytime soon. As such, I have to be honest with everyone in that it is unlikely the gym will survive the pandemic. Not only due to the length of the closures, but also due to the landlord wanting a large increase in rent for the following years to come. At this point, I want to thank everyone that has attended, supported, played, enj...oyed, and been a part of this gym over the past 8 years. We set out to create a space for everyone to enjoy this wondrous sport and we did that for as long as we could. I hope everyone continues to find places to play, continues to be friends, and continues to be healthy. We're grateful for all the friends we've made and the community that has been developed over the years. Again, be safe and stay healthy. Take Care, Bin

Northern California Badminton Club 01.10.2020

Hello Everyone, With the Govenor's new orders we will unfortunately have to close again. Today, July 13 will be the last day we will be open until we receive new orders again. Thank you for your support in these trying times, we will extend memberships that are affected. Thank you for understanding. https://www.google.com//gov-newsom-announces-major-ro/amp/

Northern California Badminton Club 24.09.2020

Thank you all for your support during these trying times. With the increasing numbers, let's do our best to remain safe and healthy. As you may know, restaurants, bars, etc have been asked to shut down again due to these increased numbers. Gyms may be next, but lets all do our part to prevent any potential spread. As such, please do your best to wear your masks when you are not playing and also practice social distancing. We have hand sanitizer at the front desk and hand soap at the sinks. Thank you all for your consideration!

Northern California Badminton Club 20.09.2020

With the gym reopening on Friday, please understand that we'll have a few new rules to follow. So please be patient with us as we try to balance health and safety with allowing everyone a fair chance to play badminton to their heart's content! Thanks to one of our outstanding community members, we have a COVID19 declaration form. You will only need to sign this one time on entry, however if any of your answers change after you sign, you must inform someone at the front desk.... This is for everyone's safety. Furthermore, we'll try to have hand sanitizer near the front desk or bathroom for people to use. And we'll be wiping down the benches more often. If anyone has extra cleaning supplies they'd like to donate, I'd be more than happy to put them to good use! Again, thank you all for your support, love, kindness, and patience!

Northern California Badminton Club 03.09.2020

Hello Everyone! It's looking more and more likely that we will be able to reopen on Friday, June 12. From what I understand, the county still needs approval from the State, but we are aiming to be open at our regular hours starting on Friday. Some extra rules will be in place: Please try to continue social distancing while waiting for a court, I understand there's limited seating.... Please wash your hand/disinfect between matches. We will try to provide hand sanitizer for use. If you can wear a mask if you are not playing, that would be helpful. Please do not come if you are experiencing fever, cough, trouble breathing, etc. If you previously had purchased a monthly/punch card before the quarantine, we will honor the days missed due to quarantine. Thank you all for your patience, love, support, and I hope to see you all on Friday!

Northern California Badminton Club 31.08.2020

I have been getting questions about donating directly, if you wish to donate directly our business banking accepts Zelle payments at [email protected]. Again, I cannot express how thankful I am and how amazing it has been to see the outpour of support for our humble gym. Thank you all SO SO SO much, and I cannot wait to see you all again when the quarantine is lifted.

Northern California Badminton Club 26.08.2020

Hello all, I have been getting questions about the gym reopening. We would be classified in stage 3 of the Governor's reopening plan and hope that it will be soon. In the meantime, I ask that you please donate to help us pay rent. Our landlord, Ethan Conrad, has been putting pressure on us to open early to pay rent even though it may be unsafe. We have remained closed throughout this period. I have attempted to get PPP loans, but have been unsuccessful. The link is here:... https://www.gofundme.com/f/3xkr9-save-the-gym Thank you all, and please stay safe.

Northern California Badminton Club 16.08.2020

Hello All, With the extension of the stay at home orders there were questions about the "non contact sports" exemption. Unfortunately, this exemption was made under the "outdoor recreation" section. As such, this does not apply to our gym and we will remain closed per orders. Thank you and hopefully we will be able to reopen soon.

Northern California Badminton Club 05.08.2020

Hello all, quick update. We are still remaining closed for the time being. We have not received any word that gyms are allowed open and we also want to make sure everyone remains safe during the pandemic. I will update you all when I have more information, thank you. Stay safe and take care!

Northern California Badminton Club 25.07.2020

To be clear, we will not reopen until the shelter-in-place order is over. Currently the order is effective until April 7th, but may be extended. Please continue to be safe, stay healthy, and support local businesses!

Northern California Badminton Club 12.07.2020

Hello all, The Governor is directing all gyms and health clubs to close for the time being. Any passes purchased that were effected by this closure will be extended appropriately. We plan to reopen on 4/1/2020. I will keep you guys updated as the situation progresses, thank you.
