Dia de los muertos, Micaihuitl Celebrated Nov 1st and 2nd originally celebrated in during 2 veintenas, or 20 day cycles making a total of 40 days. One cycle was dedicated to the youth, while the other to the ancient. This was also seen as a way to balance the energies of young and old, playful with serious, what is carefree vs the sacred. ... These cycles were in the fall, a time of year that the earth is preparing to go into its death cycle. It is the slow transition of the earth and the animals as they wine down. The leaves start falling, it gets colder, days are shorter and everything naturally shrinks and we go within. Naturally we are more sensitive and go inside our head and spirit much easier and able to connect much faster to the unseen. It is a perfect time for spiritual growth, awareness and homage to our ancestors. Death was not seen as a negative or bad thing the way it is in modern culture. Yes it was painful, and marked an ending of some sort however it also marked a new begging, an opportunity to expand and grow into an unknown. Death was a part of the expansion process. It marked a mile stone and therefore was a goal. The warrior knew he would need to master this mile stone because the painful process may keep him from continuing on. He was aware that only illusions die, and what hurts were the attachments to those illusions. This was one of the 4 weapons a warrior had to master if he was to win the earth battle. He would be able to die gracefully on a daily basis and eventually remove the smoke of illusion that made life and death all together.

10 years ago, at this time of year my little niece Lluvia asked me a question about Day of the Dead. As we're walking up to the Taqueria heavily decorated with spider webs, black cats and witches my niece looks up to me and asks, "Tia Nauhxa, why is Day of the Dead only in YOUR house, and every where else it's Halloween?." She asked me with a big grin almost like a kid telling another kid that Santa isn't real.... Now you see Muertos decorations everywhere from Wallgreens, Target, Walmart and even white people sport the sugar skull face selfies. Thank goodness Dia de Los Muertos is just as exploited as every other holiday. Time to change my profile pic lol Nauhxa Aztec Arts Nauhxa Chavira

Lies! Liars!!! When you use your eyes to see the lies and criticize what you despise... you soon realize .. you should of had fun instead. If you are one of those people who honor trust and truth above anything else and get extremely hurt, upset and angry when you are told lies... ... Well then I have a 3 step solution to your problems! Step 1. Do not believe anything others tell you. Step 2. Do not believe anything your boss or religious/rock star idol or spiritual guru tells you. Step 3. Final and most important, Do not believe anything YOU tell yourself! If you can accomplish this.. you will never even notice the puddle of lies lying next to you. The only thing left for you to look at or notice will be what is, the truth. Don't give away your power and loose your head. Take a walk or sing a song instead.. or go to your local Day of the Dead .... Celebration. Photo of my 4 legged, non talking or lying maestro. lol He taught me to take walks, to smell the flowers.. and asses... and just chill.

Jade 101 Jade Jade Jade!! If living by your honor and doing unto others the way you'd like to be done to you is just way too difficult... then you can be a warrior just by wearing one of these babies!! Or 6 of them! ... Actually Jade doesn't care about your personal reasons for wearing it. It does what it does and like any strong medicine, it begins a process. Its a necklace, therefore binding you like a lover, to your own inner warrior with that RING around your neck. The stone adapts to the wearer making itself an extension of you. A hard, cold and tough one. Used as protection in ancient times it holds part of your essence entwined with the elements to bring out your inner warrior in every move you make. Like all strong medicines.. they can be used as its opposite or poison as well. If around too much negativity, it can absorb it, then need to find outlets to clear it, so guard them babies and doggies.. This is why people usually don't let others touch their necklaces. So the person doesn't rob them of part of their essence and so the stone doesn't absorb the intention of the person admiring it. Use it with balance like anything else. For protection and for ceremony and aroundeal strong and wrap it in a red cloth so it can be protected while it sleeps.. When it begins to feel heavy... leave it out in the new moon for it to get cleansed and smudge it with ceder. . -18" in length -Vintage jade Mask is 1.75" long and wide Nauhxa Aztec Arts
