It is with a heavy heart, that we have to announce the passing of Glenn Tietjen, founder and director of the Natomas School of Music. He passed away during the night of April 8, 2021, from complications of a life-extending surgery. It's hard to imagine walking down the halls of the school without bumping into Glenn, making sure everyone is comfortable, sharing a new teaching concept he's come across, or telling the latest musical joke he just learned. Everyone walking through our doors encountered Glenn's passion and enthusiasm for music and teaching at some point. His legacy will endure. His idea, and vision the Natomas School of Music - has touched thousands of lives, both young and old throughout the years. Let's keep on practicing and learning, and continue making music as that is what Glenn would have wanted.
Our Winter Showcase will premier tonight in 3 parts on our youtube channel Showcase 1 6pm https://youtu.be/Xh8HfXRyaLE... Showcase 2 7pm https://youtu.be/sT7Dt-9vF5k Showcase 3 7:45pm https://youtu.be/e_6J76SIpBo
This is true! I don't regret learning how to play ANY instrument I play!
Yep, I have experienced personally, and I have seen it over and over again in my students. Just let it flow!
Sounds right to me!
Happens to me all of the time!
Yes, that is why I think it is important that our students get the opportunity to play music with other students, and our teachers. I have benefitted, and ENJOYED, every musical partnership I have EVER been involved with! Play MORE Music!
Three comments: Very interesting, not a cappella (there is piano accompanying), the lion is the only animal sleeping. Enjoy!

I find it difficult to think about anything else when playing or teaching music. It is wonderful to have this gift in my life!
Well said, Willie!
