Natomas Awana Club

Even though we were not able to get staffing together for a spring session of our club, West Coast Honor Camp is hoping to be able to return this summer. If you would have qualified for camp a year ago, you can go this year. They are currently taking registrations though everyone is going on a waitlist until more details can be confirmed. If you want to go, register now to save your spot. From WCHC: "Camp is ON for 2021! Register now! We expect to be limited to 2/3 of our ...normal number of people in camp (campers and staff combined). Our plan is to use the minimum number of staff that we can to allow the most campers possible to attend camp. All campers will go onto a wait list until we get final requirements from Lassen Pines/State of California/Shasta Dept of Health. Staff, please understand if we don't have room for you at camp this year, we love you all and appreciate your willingness to serve. Lord willing, we can return to full capacity in 2022. Also note, we have been told that we may need to close camp on Friday afternoon - still TBD. Updates will be emailed to all registered as information becomes available. We are considering a 6-8 week session of Awana this spring to pick up where we left off and finish what we started last year. There would be no registration fees for this session. Books and uniforms would be the only expense and most clubbers won’t need them as they can just continue in their old book. Lost books can be replaced with photocopies for this session as needed. With the time change coming, we will be able to move some of our activities outside, and indoor acti...vities can be done in small groups with masks. The Crossing has invited Awana families and the entire community to join them for a virtual egg hunt this Saturday. All of the details can be found at the link. This is a great opportunity to get out and celebrate the season while still observing all safety measures.

There is a cool idea going viral today on Facebook. If you have kids, I would encourage you to participate but let them make the palm leaves. Here are a coupl...e of craft ideas we have done in the past. "What if everyone on Sunday morning, April 5, puts a branch on the door of their house or in the window to celebrate Palm Sunday? It could be any green branch you can get. This could help, despite the social distancing, to be connected. Want to join? We may be physically isolated, but not separated. We are united as the body of Christ. We are the church."

This week (2/25) is Glow Night at Awana.

Crazy Hair Night is this week, February 11. Also, we will have regular uncut car kits for sale for $8. The precut kits haven't come in yet but we should have them for next week. Awana Grand Prix is April 7.
