LightHouse has fantastic news, friends! We are so proud to be opening our doors at 1155 Market Street temporally for the next six consecutive Fridays as a COVID-19 vaccination site! You can register to receive the vaccination on April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 or May 7 by calling 628-652-2700 and a friendly San Francisco Vaccine Helpline employee will assist you in scheduling your vaccination appointment. Our next "Speech Review and Leadership Development Discussion" group will be on Tuesday, September 22nd at 8 PM Pacific time. The San Francisco NFB chapter is listening to and discussing one NFB speech per month. Jim Barbour is facilitating these discussions. One of the best ways to develop NFB leadership is to deepen our understanding of our NFB philosophy. And, one of the best ways to deepen our understanding of NFB philosophy is by reading and discussing speeches and pub...lications from current and former NFB leaders. Our next speech will be "Authentic Intelligence: A Blind Researcher Bringing Wisdom to the Future of Technology Innovations", by Dr. Cynthia L. Bennett. Join our Bay Area chapter meeting for the National Federation of the Blind at 5 pm this Tuesday Sept 8th for Connections Hour. A fun hour where we play some communication games, learn more about eachother and the positive blindness philosophy of the NFB. Then the monthly chapter meeting follows from 6:30-8, where you can learn about or get involved with the work the Federation does. After 8, there is a free for all where we stay on, relax and get to know each other a little less formally. Hopefully we will see you all there!!
