Join us and let’s talk about our profession and the challenges and opportunities during these unprecedented times. Zoom in and get connected.
We have got to talk about how racism and white supremacy show up in social work practice. We see it in diagnoses, in therapist/client relationships, pay and rei...mbursement inequity, hiring, representation, supervision, licensure, and so much more. This will be the first of many town halls on social work practice by the NASW NYS chapter, and the last Revolutionize Social Work event in 2020. All social workers are invited to the NYS Chapter’s Town Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 6pm EST. Register here: https://tinyurl.com/SocialWorkRevolutionDec8 See more
In an effort to be more deeply collaborative and transparent in our organizational priorities, NASW-CA will be administering regular surveys to engage social workers in California. We will also be facilitating town halls in early 2021 to create space for community and dialogue around collectively advancing social work and social justice efforts. As a first step, we are asking members to complete this field survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BKZ7X73. The survey will take only about 10 minutes to complete. Participants have an option to enter a random drawing to win a $50 gift card. While this particular platform is for NASW members, this is only a first step and we will be engaging non-members and members alike as NASW-CA is committed to ensuring equitable platforms for social workers to participate in change.
So glad the tradition will continue!
NASW MCU Welcomes the entering class of Social Work students at CSUMB, to the Social Work profession. Though we were not able to host the annual welcome dinner we did welcome them with a nice padfolio and NASW swag. We wish them a successful first semester and future career in a great profession. We look forward to meeting all of them in person someday soon.
NASW California hosting this virtual conversation on racial injustice, tomorrow SATURDAY JUNE 6TH 11AM. Details in flyer below.
