Pruning season is a moment to celebrate setting the stage for a brand new growing season. While this year's Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation Napa County Pruning Contest has been canceled, we've had the opportunity to speak with members that motivate their teams to participate and compete year-after-year! Today we highlight Salvador Rios from Usibelli Vineyards, not only is he a leader, he also competed and won the 2006 Napa County Pruning Contest! "I encourage our crew to p...articipate in the Pruning Contest because it helps motivate them. Being able to invite their families to join them during the day when they can compete alongside other crews is a great way to recognize their hard work and skillset...My fondest memory would be when I won first place in 2006. I continue to believe in myself and my skills and I use this to encourage my team to put in their all." Photos feature Salvador taking first place in 2006.
