NAMI has always seen first responders as partners and life savers in so many situations. NAMI has programs that teach law enforcement and other first responders about mental health. The burden on officers to try and determine in life and death situations is not the best; they need support, training and, in some cases, the ability to call on psychiatric professionals to help. ...
