Welcome to Liz Reese, Assistant Professor Stanford Law School!
TOMORROW, Friday April 30 (12pm PDT/3pm EDT)--"Caretaking Community & Self: A Conversation with Native Students." A collaboration between NACC, HUNAP and their indigenous alumni organizations!
Join us today at 3pm!
Last quarter, students from The California Missions: Art History and Reconciliation visited Mission San Gabriel Arcángel in an excursion led by Mellon Fellow, S...hawon Kinew. In 1771, Mission San Gabriel was established by Franciscan missionaries on the unceded territory of the Tongva, one of Los Angeles' indigenous tribes. In its 60+ years as a mission, Mission San Gabriel baptized over 25,000 indigenous people and left an indelible mark on the people, culture, and land of this region. Inside the mission, Stanford students explored the complexity of this history, studying the role of indigenous art making within the Missions, and the connections between Mission architecture, colonization, and the California landscape.
