When I make Noren curtains to sell on my website, I use cotton and linen fabrics. The designs that I apply to each Noren are Chinese/Japanese characters for such words as Happiness, Good Fortune, Prosperity, etc. In this video are examples of designs found on Noren curtains.

This video brings back fond memories of college textile studies. My favorite textiles are the yarn dyed woven and embroidered fabrics.
