Still Hunkered down, doing a zoom lesson or two, but all we can do is listen to the experts. Until enough folks wear masks and stop spreading so we can get back to a normal life- remembering a nice little after show discussion of student / technical assistant Jayden's three note invention, what to do with those 3 notes? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkqtpeAgBv0&feature=youtu.be

2016, social distancing was music, smiles, and fun. To experience again, please be cool. I miss things like this too, hanging out with angels- and am trying to behave like I care about the future, as, I do. Zoom doesnt have the same appeal, though it is working very well with a few students, to whom Im eternally grateful. Thanks Greg Brown, Gault School, Nita and Jayden!

Heres musicscool guitar students Andrew Sylvester, Jackson Frost, and Ryan Cracolice, at Don Quixotes in Felton (since became Flynn's, which became Felton Musichall, was once Costella's Chalet), performing Freddie King's "Hideaway". with the Beggar Kings- David Tucker on Drums, Dale on Bass. Old world apprenticeship is always part of arts, and crafts, and since the first days of Musicscool, we've found that "jumping in the water" is a great way to learn to swim, after a few... pointers are shared, this is how you get a style, and have fun- listen, learn apply and burn! These guys are all still playing geat, and expanding on their craft, as are so many of the first (mid- 2000s) wave of Musicscool, still playing, gigging, teaching, from James Durbin, Will McDougal, Jesse Holsapple, Caleb Larsen, Cameron Smith, Ty & Nick Wallace, Hunter Braymer, Abby Colbeck, Emily Isaacson, too many to list but never forget... but love and miss y'all! We did Monterey Blues festivals, had jams with pro bands Beggar Kings ( here), White Album Ensemble, Monterey Bay Blues festivals- age is just a number, can you play? is the question. In case you wanted some light, (if opinionated) reading on harmony, Pythagoras, the stars, planets and other stuff- You could say without certain ancient greeks' thoughtful experiments, we may not know where to place frets on guitars, or how to explain what being 'in tune' means. More than 'Press "Play"...', but just as fun!

Hows your "Staycation (haha)" doin'? If you ever had a hankering to pick back up the guitar, piano, bass, or start something fresh on something new, you cant really learn it all in depth- off of a prerecorded video- it cant stop and say "no, its a 3rd fret G there!" haha. I specialize in one- on one- lessons, personally tailored- gathering experience from 15 years of teaching, on to of actually playing in concerts and records, starting with Quicksilver at the closing of the ...Fillmore- To Doobie Brothers for 8 years and 10 CDs, to the White Album Ensemble, and The Beggar Kings- I know most Beatles Songs, and Stones, and Zeppelin, also acoustic, slide, tunings, and fingerpicking guitar. I am tooled up for zoom ( a free meeting software, you can be on laptop, desktop, or ipad, even phone but I get really small-) online lessons, with a huge array of instruments, you can see- Musicscool is ONLINE, baby! Peace and Love and Harmony and Rhythm- thats medicine for your soul! 426 6060 or PM ( no attachments) to this site, Musicscool. See more

So proud to hear Will McDougal keeping up on his studies and loves! We spent many happy days dissecting the unique spices and influences of New Orleans ( Like Henry Byrd, "Longhair", was a bugler at Turpentine camps, explains the monophonic major scale reveille riffs that most piano players dont do). Beauty, Will! Love to teresa and kiddos!
