Our 17th season - KALEIDOSCOPE 2022 - opens February 25 and 26 with an electrifying concert program "Together Again" with Matthew Szemela, violin; Jennifer Kloetzel, cello; and Aileen Chanco, piano. NEWSFLASH! On January 21, Ms. Kloetzel releases a new recording, her collaboration with pianist Robert Koenig, "Beethoven The Conquering Hero - Complete Works for Cello & Piano"! A graduate of The Juilliard School and a Fulbright Scholar, cellist Jennifer Kloetzel has concertized ...throughout the United States, Europe and Asia as a soloist and chamber musician. A founding member of the San Francisco-based Cypress String Quartet (1996-2016), Ms. Kloetzel has toured the globe and performed at such renowned venues as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Chautauqua Institute and the Ravinia Festival, the Lobkowicz Palaces in both Vienna and Prague, as well as prominent colleges and conservatories worldwide. Ms. Kloetzel is noted for her elegant playing and her vibrant tone. A fervent champion of new music, she has received the Copland Award for her work with living American Composers and has commissioned and premiered over fifty works, including five concertos written specifically for her. One of that concert's many highlights is the World Premiere of Mark Fish's "Indoors," made possible through the Musical Grant Program, administered by InterMusic SF. On Sunday, May 22 (5pm), join us to celebrate the music of Astor Piazzolla and the passion of Argentine tango at VAYAMOS! featuring Quinteto Quilombo (Seth Asarnow, bandoneon; Ertan Torgul, violin; Aileen Chanco, piano; Jeff Massanari, electric guitar; Bill Everett, bass; Count Glover, dancer; and Inna Yureneva, dancer) in a sizzling concert extravaganza in the Jackson Theatre at Smith Center for the Arts, Ohlone College.
