Collection from the estate of Maj Gen Robert Wallace Fye. He was invited to the Vietnamese National Military Academy Graduation Ceremony Class of 23, year 1970. He is seen here as the Colonel, together with Gen Creighton Abrams, Maj Gen Lam Quang Thi, and Lt Gen Ngo Dzu.

The proposal to form the 1st Vietnamese Parachute Battalion in August 1st, 1951, signed by French Army General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, High Commissioner in Indochina. The Battalion's first Commander was Captain Le Quang Trieu. A photo of the 3rd Company of the 1st Vietnamese Parachute Battalion in Saigon on April 21st, 1952. Vin Bo Tàng Quân Lc Vit Nam Cng Hoà rt vinh d c tng hai k vt lch s quý giá hôm nay. The Museum of the Republic of Vietnam is honored to be presented with two precious historical artifacts today. The first is a self-made banjo by musician and veteran Xuan Diem, who built it while in concentration camp post-1975 with eating utensils, pieces of wood and telephone chords. The second is the original guitar from pre-1975 used by the late musician and Colonel Nguyen Van Dong and the late musician Y Van.
