The BBQ is still in one piece. Unfortunately Jeff's house did not make it, infact it was the first casualty of the fire. Everyone is safe. And doing ok. Thank you everyone for your concerns, well wishes and prayers. And to everyone that has offered help, thank you! This community is amazing when it comes to these tragic situations and I know that this time will be no different. Our hearts are broken for this community! We have decided that tomorrow is just going to be to hard to be around the bbq after saying goodbye to Chopper in the morning, so we are not opening Monday. We are sorry for any inconvenience and we will be back Thursday for lunch! Chopper says he loves all of you and thank you again for the years of love y’all have all given him! We are sad to say we are going to close down today. We cannot keep the dining room clear of smoke with the hood running. Let's hope for clearer skies tomorrow!!

With the air quality today being in the hazardous range, we will not be providing outside dining today. Inside seating available following Covid guidelines. To go orders also!!!

Okay so here is the latest and greatest (?) about the Humboldt-Toiyabe Forest closure. The reason for this closure (just as all the closures across California)... is two fold: the extreme fire conditions and the fact that resources are stretched so incredibly thin there are few to respond to another fire. This order will be regularly reviewed beginning September 14th. There are no campgrounds open as of 8:00 this morning, no trails, no hiking, no fishing on the Forest’s land. In other words, no feet on Forest Service land. That being said you MAY fish between Eastside Lane and Topaz Lake which is private land. You will have to access the Walker River at the bridges of Eastside, Larson, Topaz or Cunningham and walk the high river mark. THAT BEING SAID...the water is INCREDIBLY low. There are a few patches of private land here and there in the Canyon but not worth a citation not knowing where you are at. I have attached photos of the conditions at the bridges (Thanks for the help Steve) The motels, RV park, restaurants and businesses are open. This is a tough punch for all of us but we will attempt to stumble through as I am sure many of you are doing as well! We wish you health and safety and urge you to stay positive and faithful! So for the last 10 years we have had a poker ride for the National Wounded Warrior Center on this last Saturday of June. But with Covid-19 we made the choice to not have the ride. However 100% of today’s sales will be donated to the center in honor of Michele! TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Caltrans has opened Sonora Pass/State Route 108. California's Stay At Home order remains in effect. While the road is now open, a late season winter storm next week may require it to be closed again. Please check quickmap.dot.ca.gov for the latest.
