Español Abajo ******************* Happy New Year everyone! The time has finally come for the very first public hearing about the Monster in the Mission! Join us on February 7th at Mission High School for and have the opportunity to speak directly to the Planning Commission and demand that they make the right choice and take a stand against the Monster in the Mission and support the 100% community developed affordable housing!... Planning should always be a public and accessible process where the people most impacted by a project should be able to authentically inform the decision. This hearing is a real example of how planning decisions should be made. As always, childcare, food, and interpretation will be available. Let's show Maximus and the City what people power Mission-style looks like! See you there! ***************** Feliz Año Nuevo a todxs!

Hundreds of parents in the Bay Area have been ripped away from their children as they fight their deportation, depriving their children of a caregiver and quit...e often a breadwinner. Immigrants who secure bond during their case and find legal representation are about eight times more likely to win their cases than those who remain incarcerated and unrepresented. This Father's Day join Deportation Defense and Legal Advocacy Program and Bay Area Immigration Bond Fund raise money for fathers who have been torn from their children and are in immigration detention because they cannot afford to post bond. Like many SROs, the Utah uses numerous habitability violations as a way of passively evicting rent-control tenants. We look forward to holding Paul Pelosi, son of Nancy Pelosi, and other owners accountable for this behavior. Many thanks to Mission Local for your investigative reporting on this issue.

We are proud to announce that today we submitted Our City, Our Home into the Department of Elections, which will appear on the November 2018 ballot. The initiative will house 4,000 homeless households and address the needs of severely mentally ill people. San Francisco has been engaged in many ineffective strategies to address the crisis of those living without secure housingincluding mean spirited sweeps that simply move our neighbors from one block to another. Today we submitted a plan to the Department of Elections that would build on what we know workssupportive housing, and homelessness prevention!
