Ms Melody's Home Daycare

Thanks to Thomas’s parents who gave us lots of small pumpkins we have had fun this week comparing pumpkins in size, color, and bumps, we have counted pumpkins and opened a pumpkin to see what’s inside. We tried pumpkin raw and steamed and ate pumpkin seeds.

Distance learning at Ms. Melody’s. Love that everyone is busy working. 4 different schools, 3 different school districts, I really get to observe the differences between the schools and districts I am really impressed with these children’s teachers. We really have some great teachers in Salinas.

Meet my new granddaughter Riley June Foster born 9/20/2020 at 2:50pm 5lbs 7oz 19 inches. we are so blessed.

He has the pout pout face perfected. Such a cutie even with a pout face.

30 years ago today I opened Ms Melody’s Home Daycare. I have seen so many changes in the daycare business. When I started daycare I was 23 years old and about the same age as the parents of the children I was watching and now well, I’m closer to the age of the parent’s parents. I have had many many children come and go through my daycare career and many children who are now grown up I still see or get updates on from their parents or Facebook. Scott and I have met many fr...iends through my daycare and some are still close friends today. Leaving my job teaching preschool at Salinas Christian Schools and starting Ms Melody’s was a big risk but I’m soooo glad I did it. God has always been faithful to bring just the right children to me. Sometimes it has been challenging and very hard. But oh so worth it. I don’t plan on another 30 years of business but maybe another 10 to 15. See more

It’s going to be hot this week. Please dress your child in cool clothes and remember to apply sunscreen on your child before coming to daycare.

Our distance learning crew working hard learning new things. I’m learning new things too, such as how to find where to go on a Chrome book. How to use a touch screen and not a mouse. I think Alexa is going to get tired of setting so many timers.

Tea party Day. It was lots of fun.

It was a very busy day for me and I didn’t get a lot of pictures but here are a few from today We had some fun stick horse races and I will post a video. We had pigs in a blanket for lunch with tator tots and strawberries. I found the cutest book on Amazon to add to our cowboy cowgirl day called The Brave cowboy. We also did some cowboy art work And watched a cowboy Pooh movie. I took more pictures but I have a couple parents who do not want their child’s face to be on social media so many of my pictures I can not post. But it was a fun day.
