Mt. San Antonio Gardens

Mt. San Antonio Gardens begins our 60th anniversary year with the start of construction of our new Wellness Center. The two-story, 11,330 sq. ft., state-of-the-art, fully equipped Wellness Center will include dedicated space for certified rehabilitation and physical therapy as well as massage, yoga, and Pilates rooms and outdoor patio space. The Wellness Center project, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022, will be located in the center of our 31-acre campus and will include the renovation of our existing Pool House.

The display windows in the social center at Mt. San Antonio Gardens currently feature the work of some of our talented residents.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas at Mt. San Antonio Gardens...the Gardens Club recently compiled a holiday treat for the Resident Video Magazine shared here for your enjoyment!

Gus the Gardens' Gnome moved to Mt. San Antonio Gardens at the start of the year and has welcomed his family on campus for a holiday visit. Although he is usually playing hide and seek with residents, his eagerness to introduce everyone to his family has residents lining up to share a little holiday cheer.

Although the holidays might look and feel a little different this year, Mt. San Antonio Gardens is committed to honoring the staff who have worked so hard to make our community as special as it is. Our physically-distanced Employee Holiday Luncheon consisted of a three course meal complimented by hot apple cider and eggnog. Many thanks to everyone on our incredible team and happy holidays to all!

The Gardens’ resident gnome, Gus, has invited residents to meet his family who is visiting him for the holidays and partake in a #ELFIE challenge. Some of Gus’ closest friends have already stopped by to visit and put on their best holiday faces!

Postage and packages are in good hands at Mt. San Antonio Gardens. The elves on campus know how to blend work and play perfectly, adding a dash of mischief here and there to inspire laughs and spread the holiday spirit.

Last, but not least, of the Mt. San Antonio Gardens residents to organize an end-of-day staff send off, were the A building residents who serenaded the dedicated Grounds Crew with much appreciation and affection. "We love you, Grounds Crew! Oh, yes, we do!"

Mt. San Antonio Gardens residents of the Bonita Cottage and Fringe neighborhoods gathered with signs, cheers, pots, pans, and cowbells to show their appreciation for the dedicated members of our Sodexo Dining staff who've worked so hard to continue to provide quality take-out meals since mid-March. As you can see from the posters of appreciation made by the dining staff, the affection is mutual!

At Mt. San Antonio Gardens last week, approximately 200 residents and staff joined together in a Walk for Peace, Hope, and Justice. The walk was led by resident and longtime civil rights activist Myrlie Evers-Williams.

Mt. San Antonio Gardens residents of the Harrison Cottage neighborhood showed their gratitude to the dedicated staff of our Evergreen Villas by enthusiastically sending them off for the weekend with cheers accompanied by plenty of pots and pans! Gardens Family: We're Here for Each Other.

The Mt. San Antonio Gardens Terrace neighborhood rehearses their performance of "Ode to Maintenance" sung to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" under the direction of Michael Lamkin, using his conductor's plastic ladle, of course. Big fun showing appreciation for the Gardens dedicated staff!

Mt. San Antonio Gardens residents of the Terrace neighborhood met in the parking garage to send members of our Maintenance Dept. off for the weekend with a rousing performance of "Ode to Maintenance" sung to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," accompanied by ukuleles, a banjo, a harmonica, and a robust percussion section of pots and pans!

The hydrangeas at Mt San Antonio Gardens are blooming beautifully and adding to the colorful garden foliage on campus.

Mt. San Antonio Gardens D bldg. 3rd and 4th floor residents sent the staff from Oak Tree Lodge and Oak Arbor off for Memorial Day weekend with beautiful banners, LOUD pots and pans, and enthusiastic applause in appreciation for all their dedication and hard work! Mt. San Antonio Gardens housekeeping staff were serenaded into their weekend on May 15. Grateful Gardens residents sang "When the Saints Go Marching In" accompanied by banjo and drums, acknowledging many weeks of relentless work by this team dedicated to keeping the Gardens clean and safe for residents and staff alike. With signs declaring "We Love Our Residents," the staff members were touched by the outpouring of appreciation by residents. "Gardens Family: We're Here for Each Other."

Mt. San Antonio Gardens C building residents sent the Administrative Staff off for the weekend feeling a warm glow of appreciation for their good work, complete with an enthusiastic M-S-A-G cheer! The appreciation was mutual as staff walked out under the "Gardens Family-We're Here for Each Other" banner! Happy Mother's Day weekend!

The face masks did not diminish the palpable smiles as Mt. San Antonio Gardens B building residents gathered with pots and pans in hand to send a loud and heartfelt message of appreciation to the dedicated staff of Magnolia Grove during the shift change.

Last month, pre-COVID-19 restrictions, Oak Tree Lodge Clinical Coordinator Daphne Ojeah, in traditional dress, entertains an appreciative audience with a traditional dance from Sierra Leone, the country where she was born.
