Congratulations to Kayla, MRPE's amazing adventurer and her hiking team - this group just climbed Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States and the Sierra Nevada range at 14,505 feet. Not only did she make it to the summit, she went the extreme route and made it up and back in one day. You are truly an inspiration!

Welcome to our new Administrative Assistant, Kayla Urbano! Kayla is a recent graduate from Sac State, where she majored in Communications. An avid hiker, Kayla has checked off several iconic California climbs on her list including Half Dome, Mount Tallac and in just weeks she’ll be scrambling up Mount Whitney for a day hike. She also spends time on weekends pouring wine at the Todd Taylor tasting room at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. We’re excited to have her on board and are fortunate to have someone with her talent, enthusiasm and positive energy join the MRPE team.

Ten incredible seniors from California State University, Sacramento presented their final projects on campus today. The projects provided designs for two areas of Loaves & Fishes, the local Sacramento non-profit which provides survival services to homeless men, women and children. Engineers from MRPE and the City of Sacramento mentored these teams and were so proud of their presentations. Congratulations!

One of our very special projects. A collaboration with Loaves & Fishes and California State University of Sacramento Civil Engineering students to develop new housing on the former site of Friendship Park at Loaves & Fishes. These innovative and hard-working seniors are receiving mentoring help from volunteers at MRPE and the City of Sacramento to develop a site plan that has the potential to be implemented in the future. When great minds join together, impressive ideas emerge. We're looking forward to the students' presentations!
