Meet our Math teacher, Mr. Chamberlain! He's "virtually" the best math teacher in the desert! "Born in Warren, PA went to school until I was 18 there, then joined the USMC from 2003-2007. Achieved the rank of Sergeant E-5 and served in Iraq in the winter of 2006 during the "troop surge" which inevitably led to victory in the Al Ambar province and the Iraq war in general. This deployment was considered Operation Iraqi Freedom II (OIF2). I also got a Journeyman's license (...6000 hours from the Department of Labor) in Welding. Worked in a factory in Fontana for 4 years manufacturing windows and doors, while I went to Riverside Community College and later transferred to California State University San Bernardino where I got a Bachelors in Accounting and Business Administration and then later got a Math teaching credential. My future plan is to study music production and be more popular and famous than DJ Snake. As a plan B, spend time with my family, coworkers, and students and do the best I can everyday with what I got, and find ways to appreciate having even the smallest of things!

Meet our newest teacher at MRA Victorville, Ms. Williams! "Hello! I'm Miss Williams. I was born in Lancaster, California and I was raised here in the High Desert. In fact, I lived in the same house for almost 35 years and I recently bought my own home and moved. Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. I like to work with kids and help them to reach their goals. I started my teaching journey while I was in high school. I worked at a preschool on my high school campu...s and at Victor Valley College. I graduated from VVC with two associates degrees then went on to Azusa Pacific University to obtain my bachelors degree. Finally, I graduated from University of Redlands and received my multiple subject teaching credential. I was a substitute teacher for 3 years and I have been teaching full time for 6 years. When I'm not teaching, I like to go shopping, go to new restaurants, work on projects at my new home, and spend time with my family. I also have a two year old son who definitely keeps me busy and entertained!" See more

In honor of Patriot Day, a day of remembrance for the events of 9/11, one of the teachers from our sister school Mojave River Academy Bakersfield (and a member of the Bakersfield Symphony) performed a tribute on her flute!

The IEHP Community Resource Center (12353 Mariposa Rd Suites C-2 & C-3, Victorville, CA 92395) is holding a COVID-19 Relief Family Support Day on Friday, Aug. 7, from 9am-12pm. The event is "Pull Up and Pick Up" and free backpacks with essential school supplies, shoes, toys and more will be handed out. The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and SBC Literacy Partners are hosting their 3rd Annual Footsteps2Brilliance Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge runs through Sept. 30 and is only 15 minutes a day. Directions for how to register and participate in the challenge are included in the attached flyers. The San Bernardino County Fairgrounds (14800 7th Street in Victorville) will be hosting a 2020 Drive Through Backpack Giveaway from 8am-11am on Thursday, July 30. The giveaway is for any student in Pre-K through 12th grade and the backpacks will include Farm-To-Family Food Boxes, Socks, Face Masks, Books, A Message of Hope and more. The giveaway is free and only while supplies last, so please make sure to arrive early.

Starting this week, we will providing Produce Bags to our families every Wednesday at all of our Grab-And-Go meal sites. The bags contain a variety of fruits and vegetables offered to the Oro Grande School District by local farmers at a discounted rate to help support families in the community. The produce bags are free, just like our Grab-And-Go meals, and come with two half gallons of milk.
