The Oro Grande School District is partnering with County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health to host two Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics. The vaccine clinics will take place on May 25, at the Oro Grande School District (19900 National Trails Highway in Oro Grande), and on May 27, at Mojave River Academy West Victorville (12384 Palmdale Road in Victorville), and run from 4-8 p.m. each day. The vaccine clinic is free and open to anyone 12 and older. Those between the ages of 12-17 must have a parent or guardian present in order to get vaccinated. We are partnering with Diversify Our Narrative - Oro Grande to launch Friday Book Club! This is an opportunity for us to bring staff and students together to learn and grow. Participation is open to all staff and all students in grades 6-12. We will provide the books/e-readers for everyone that participates. Each Friday afternoon Zoom from 4:30-5:30pm will include interactive discussions and opportunities to discuss our learning and takeaways from the selection. Start next Monday, March 15, we will be hosting a 11 week read-a-thon challenge. Sign up with your teachers! The competition will consist of reading as many books as you can on Myon and take the AR test to each book. The top 3 students in each level (elementary, middle school, and high school) will earn some awesome prizes! Who’s up for the challenge?

Can you believe the first day of school is nearly two weeks away? August 28 will be here before you know it. Our enrollments have been surging thanks to families talking to their close connections, quite a complement to our hard working MRA staff! Thanks to OGSD support staff for handing out meals this week at MRA Hesperia. Our current schedule is every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10-12:20 for all Mojave River Academy and Riverside Prep students. The IEHP Community Resource Center (12353 Mariposa Rd Suites C-2 & C-3, Victorville, CA 92395) is holding a COVID-19 Relief Family Support Day on Friday, Aug. 7, from 9am-12pm. The event is "Pull Up and Pick Up" and free backpacks with essential school supplies, shoes, toys and more will be handed out.
