The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District is excited to start sharing some photos of the work we do to restore steelhead in the Carmel River.
When the river subsides during the dry season steelhead can get trapped, the Water District’s team traverses the river saving thousands of steelhead of various sizes, then raising them in the naturalized channel of our Carmel Valley rearing facility.
