Thank you to all our patients and our team for helping us get through this past year. It is exciting to see some form of normalcy as California COVID-19 case numbers continue to decrease. Effective June 15, we no longer require temperature checks, will switch to verbal screenings, still require masks since we are a healthcare facility and encourage checking in via your vehicle. The safety, health, and wellbeing of our patients, team and community continue to be our top pri...ority. As the state of CA opens up, we will still follow recommendations made by the CDC, CDA, Alameda County Public Health Department, and other state and local authorities to guide us through this transition. If you have an upcoming appointment and you or someone in your household is not feeling well, please postpone your appointment. We look forward to welcoming you back! See more
In our spring newsletter, we highlighted the prevalence of oral cancer and how we, as your oral health care providers, are in the optimal position to help detect signs of oral cancer, and that early detection is key. Oral cancer screenings are part of our routine check ups - we check for lumps, bumps, discolorations and malformations of tissues in/around the mouth. Just another reason for you to come in for your dental check ups!
Spring time is here and so is our Spring Newsletter! April is Oral Cancer awareness month - learn more about oral cancer and what we can do to help you. Also, keep up to date about some changes/additions in the office. We hope you are doing well!
Happy Admin Day! (yesterday ) Christina, Arlen, Lexi, Amanda, and Jazzy, we appreciate you! Thank you for all that you do from scheduling, phone calls, insurance, collecting, cleaning, screening, taking temps...there’s so much they do. We couldn’t care for our patients without their help and support, so thank you!
In light of what has been going on in our country and even our own community, we wanted to share our support for the AAPI community. There is still too much hate in this world and it needs to stop. Remember to choose kindness, always cuz even inside jokes can be hurtful. #stopasianhate
It’s Dental Assistants Recognition Week! Wes, Alisha, Crystal, Joyce, Araceli, and Kayla...we appreciate you all so much! A star has 5 points. Assistants are one of the 5 that holds us together. We love our assistants!
WINTER NEWSLETTER [DEC 2020] To our Mowry Dental Family, We hope everyone is staying warm, safe, and healthy during this unpredictable time and chilly weather! Fall and winter have approached us and not only do we have to fight the cold and flu viruses, but also Covid-19. Starting December 7, 2020, Alameda County will start a new stay-at-home order. Unlike the one placed back in March, dental care is considered essential and we will remain open with strict protocols to keep everyone safe. Please refer to our social media accounts and websites for the most up to date information on what to expect before and during your next visit. Thank you for your continued patience, support, and trust in our care. When you're comfortable, contact us to schedule your next visit or book online. Wishing you all warmth, safety and health.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. We learned from one of our own that what's hidden behind "happiness" is darkness. Many hide their depression very well. Sometimes the cheeriest ones are the ones that are hurting the most. Take a moment to reach out to a friend, a family member, or a coworker. Sometimes a simple hello or a "I'm proud of you" will save a person's life. . . .... . . . . . . #suicideprevention #suicidepreventionmonth #suicideawarenessmonth #outofthedarkness #mowrydentalfremont #mowrydental #laspositasfamilydental #infinityroses #proudofyou #youareworthit #youarenotalone #thefutureisfemale #shemadeit See more
Did you know Dr. Hoang is a huge supporter for local Bay Area small businesses...ESPECIALLY if they’re female owned? Dr. Hoang’s youngest daughter is seen here with Dr. Phuong Pham at Crest Optometry for her first vision check up. Today’s visit included a great discussion about blue light blocking glasses for kids that have been circulating social media. Take home message: please see an optometrist/opthamologist for advice Fun fact: Dr. Hoang and Dr. Pham both started th...eir practices around the same time and have been supporting each other since. They also expanded their practices to a 2nd location around the same time. . . . . . . . . . #vision #blueblockingglasses #optometrist #optometry #femaleentrepreneur #femaleempowerment #thefutureisfemale #mowrydental #mowrydentalfremont #crestoptometry

Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss . It is a bacterial infection of the gums, bone and surrounding tissues of the teeth. It can be prevented and controlled, but any damage done is irreversible. To prevent periodontal disease, or to keep it from getting worse, be sure to practice good oral hygiene habits and get dental cleanings regularly. Gum disease is often painless and has minimal (ie. bleeding or swollen gums) to no signs, so it’s important that ...you come in for routine dental check ups. At your dental visit, we check for gum disease using a tool called a probe to measure the natural space between your tooth and gums. Good numbers are 1-3mm, anything higher is concerning. We also will look the color, tone, and firmness of your gums, as well as bacterial load and bleeding. Based on our findings, we will let you know if there is anything more you can do at home to care for your gums, and if more frequent visits are necessary or worse case, gum treatment or a deep cleaning. Thank you @getcocofloss for sharing this fun and informative document with us!

To be honest, they aren’t the most comfortable and we find ourselves out of breath by mid-day but wearing N95 masks is what we have to do to protect ourselves while providing services that generate aerosols. We are fortunate to have these available to us and are making sure we join the healthcare community in respecting the shortage and only using them as needed. Thank you to Dr. Maung, Dr. Patel and their team from @fremontoms for hosting a fitting test for our team and many others so that we can wear these masks properly and with confidence. Also, thank you to Justin’s CPR and Safety Solutions for making this a fun experience as we stood like Peter Pan but looked like Spongebob. We will forever think of you when rainbows and prisms come to mind.
