Hi! I want to introduce myself to all the new faces on this platform! My name is Melody. I am a 2nd year Doctor of Physical Therapy student out here in California. I have been a massage therapist and a yoga instructor the last few years and am sooo grateful to be on this journey to expand my toolbox. . . . Some of my hobbies include: ... Long walks, backpacking, picnicking in parks, Circuit workouts, and of course, cooking! . . . One day, I want to get back into pottery, aerial circus silks and Muay Thai! Too many interests? I say, why not? Gotta keep that brain stimulated! . . . I come from an immigrant family where getting this level of education is beyond my ancestor’s dreams. When I think about how far the world and my own family have progressed, I am reminded about my WHY to keep me sane in grad school. . . . One of my goals is to help people move better and with more joy and ease. (This makes sense after looking at my hobbies, movement is SO GOOD!) . . . I’m curious - what is your WHY for what you do? Let me know below! See more
Throwback to 2010 when @alina_w_x and I were so young and so carefree I think we went canoeing in some body of water and it rained on us - that's why we are wearing bedsheets? But tbh, I'd do that all over again! . . . Traveling and living in West Africa had tested my ability to adapt to CHANGE. For example, you were told that the bus that's supposed to take you across the country was coming at 8am, but it's 3hrs late. Also, you never knew when a vehicle was goi...ng to break down and you're "stuck" on the side of the road. Those were the times I was reminded to slow down. . . . Like, slow wayyy down and be adaptable. But the c r a z y thing is that nowadays, I welcome big changes because I get bored with the daily grind. Ya know what I mean? ... Well except for COVID 19 - that can go away now, no thank you!!! . . . Tell me, what do you do to keep things exciting? . . . #studyabroadlife #spt #yogainstructor #physicaltherapystudent #studentphysicaltherapist See more

A great read on how neuro imaging has proven the many benefits of meditation. Daily meditation can help you decrease your stress levels. It can help manage your anxiety, depression and insomnia. It can help you deal with difficult situations with more composure. It can help you think with more clarity and focus more.
"We love to be loved. So why then is love such a complicated thing? Why do people who say they love each other split? Why do marriages end? Why are love songs sometimes sad? Why do broken hearts exist? How can a person who was once your everything, become a stranger, or even an enemy? There are six phrases that I think are as important, and possibly more important than I love you. Phrases that I think we should all hear from those we are close to. Phrases that should be as important to us as a declaration of love."
