BREAKING: Palm Springs is closing the parking lots at all city parks to help minimize the spread of coronavirus

From James Williamson, community leader and husband of Mayor Geoff Kors - Please share. COVID-19 - WE NEED THE COUNTY SHERIFF TO ACT. As of yesterday, 6 out of 30 deaths from the COVID-19 were in the Coachella Valley we’re 1% of the population of CA but have 20% of virus-related deaths. We are a hot spot and have a critical obligation to our family, friends and neighbors well beyond our valley borders. ... But not everyone is accepting that responsibility. Bars and restaurants in some valley cities were open this weekend. The County Sheriff’s department is giving lip service but not enforcing the Governor’s order. The Sheriff’s response has been that the Supervisors haven’t given them guidance and that the County Department of Public Health should be called. When contacted, the County Department of Public Health response is to call the Sheriff as they are in charge. So, we need to fix this ourselves. Call and Email the following: 1. Sheriff Bianco tell him he has elected to keep our community safe and is failing. 951.955.2400. I can’t find an Email. 2. Supervisor Perez the Board has authority to direct the Sheriff and they control the department’s budget. 760.863.8211 and [email protected] 3. Alcohol Beverage Control request that they pull the licenses of the non-compliant bars and restaurants. 916.419.2500 and [email protected] Let the offending businesses know that you have filed these complaints. Previous requests and complaints have gone ignored and no action has been taken. If it feels harsh or unfair then so are people getting sick/dying as is having only some businesses bear all the weight. We need to get control of the things we know about now there are other unknown problems coming. Please make that call or send an Email.

From MCE neighbor Dale Fisher - Missing from MCE. My young black cat w/with white along insides of back and front legs(invisible when standing) pink breakaway collar, She was mine from a 3 day old feral and is indoor cat. Trusts no one but me. Fixed but ear was not tipped. Got out Monday afternoon and has not returned. We live off Via Altamira and Caballeros in Palm Springs. Any info will be helpful. Missing her so.
