Join LGSD for a Virtual Parent Town Hall re: an Update on the Start of School! August 22, 2020... Dear LGSD Parents: The start of school is just around the corner! Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 26th. We will all start in Distance Learning. San Diego County will most likely come off the state's monitoring list in 10 days. Once we hit that target, then we will be planning for our transition back to a Hybrid model - which means part-time, in-person instruction for our Lemon Grove Learners. Last week we published our " Roadmap for Reopening ." We hope you have had the opportunity to read through this informative and detailed guide, which explains how we will reopen our LGSD schools once the County of San Diego COVID19 statistics allow us to do so. New communication from the district: Dear LGSD Families and Community Members: I am writing with an update about the start of the 2020-2021 school year.... Our first day of school for students is now August 26th! ALL students will begin the school year in full distance learning (virtual) due to the fact that San Diego County is still on the State’s monitoring list for excessive COVID19 infection rates. We will provide a 4-week advance notice to families, when it is safe to return to in-person instruction at the school site. The district is prepared to provide a Chromebook for EVERY Lemon Grove student! We are also able to facilitate home internet access if you do not currently have access to the internet. We will not be providing packets of worksheets as the mode of instruction for the 2020-21 school year. Using a computer device is essential. Your school will be communicating with you soon with more specific details on the preparations for returning to school (such as how to get materials and computer devices). The district will also offer a series of webinars for parents to understand how the launch of school and distance learning will look.
