Someone posted on a hung gar page that they had studied wing chun and wanted to learn one hung gar form to add to their repertoire in order to build body strength. Should it be Gung Gee, Fu Hok. 5 animal 5 element, or Iron Wire? I replied that Gung Gee is the foundation, but I doubted any sifu would teach it to an outsider without instruction in the basics of hung gar. I said advanced forms can harm you if practiced improperly. This person blasted me for being old fashioned... and said I probably make people beg for a year before agreeing to teach them. Turns out he thinks that chi is a myth. The Amazing Randi told him so. If you're going to ask a question, don't be pissed if you don’t like the answer. Why ask people from one of the most traditional styles a question and then get angry at a traditional answer. It's like getting mad at a priest for telling you there's a God. His lack of respect disqualified him from learning the form.

***Sifu Li Hon Ki in action (vídeo 3)! Sifu projects his elbow as a powerful instrument of self-defense, since his arm does not allow turning (torque), thus sto...pping the unjust aggression. In this video, he uses his own structure, that is, his own body as a powerful natural weapon, sometimes a lethal tool.

I don't normally bring politics on this page; however, I want make it clear: our code of honor includes love of country...not love of president. We are in all respects opposed to any civil war, any insurrection, any effort to overthrow the government of The United States of America. We urge everyone to respect the constitution and the laws of our nation.

The Top Four Toxic People DDD&L Part #2 Training Martial Arts can help you to know yourself and stay positive. The following tips illustrate how Martial Arts ...principles can be applied to better enable you to handle toxic traits in people. [Read Part #1 to see how each trait is defined]. 1 The Disrespectful: Possible cause - Low self esteem and lacks empathy. Take action: Show empathy and have understanding. Never blame yourself for their behaviour. Stay calm because only you can control your behaviour. Call them out in a private conversation. Listen to them and try to understand why they were rude and explain how their behaviour impacts you and others. Martial application: This is akin to the Listening Jin we develop in Wing Chun Chi Sau or Taijiquan Pushing Hands. Stick, Adhere, Connect and Follow build Listening skills which help you to understand the opponent’s attack. This understanding enables you to neutralise the force of their attack. 2 The (put you) Downers: Possible cause - Insecure. Craves the adoration of others. Take action: Remember their comments say more about them and say nothing about you. Focus on your own positive energy and do not focus on their negativity. Oftentimes they are taking feelings and fears they possess about earlier experiences in their lives and projecting them on to you. Find a way to politely point this out. Be clear about what they need to own in terms of their own inner anger. Martial application: This is similar to two different but related Wing Chun and Tai Chi principles. The first is called Zhong Ding or Central Equilibrium. Know your centre and do not allow your opponent to take it. The other is called Jie Lik in Wing Chun or Borrowing energy. This means to use your opponent’s own force against them. 3 The Drag you downs: Possible cause - Fearful or resentful of other’s success. Take action: Recognise that others may be unhappy at the thought of you being happy or popular. Remember that rivalry is natural and when a person is envious of you they probably don’t realise that they have envy. Once you realise this is the case you could choose not to behave negatively towards them in return. Instead, you could forgive them whilst having an understanding of their position. Remember, you should still strive for happiness and not stop your own light from shining. Martial application: This is similar to when your opponent wants to take you down to the ground with a hip throw. Instead of trying to fight back you could use neutralising strategy. When your opponent wants to execute a hip throw you could place your hand onto your opponent’s sacrum just before they attempt the throw. Doing this whilst relaxing to make yourself more rooted will prevent them from being able to throw you to the ground. 4 The Loudmouths: Possible cause. - Controlling. Wants to be in charge and behaves irrationally when another person presents as more popular. Take action: Do not give them the audience they crave. Limit the time you spend with them. Put space between you and them by taking a break. You can’t change their behaviour but you can change yours to one that handles them better. Martial application: This is like the Wing Chun or Taijiquan method of not giving your opponent any energy to feed off. Do not tense up, which gives them purchase, and do not fight their force with yours to alter the direction of that force. Instead, you could side step or yield in order to Hua or Neutralise their incoming force. With time and skill you could even blend with that force then gradually lead it off to a different direction. Just like water in a river flowing and effortlessly leading a heavy log away. As Bruce Lee once said, Be Water My Friend. Practise Plus Perseverance Equals Mastery...

191040030... Chinese Wulin in the Republican era, "North-to-south Quan Spreading". In 1910, Huo Yuanjia founded the "Chin Woo Athletic Association" in Shanghai, and then it was made available in Hong Kong. Wing Chun Ip Man, Hong Quan Lam Sai-wing, Ba Gua Men Sun Baogang and other masters of the generation gathered together. There were more than 400 martial arts clubs and more than 10,000 martial arts practitioners in Hong Kong. North-style Chinese kung fu and south-style integrate here and become internationalized. Now, the Hong Kong Chin Woo Athletic Association has 30 schools, based in a dilapidated commercial building in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is hard to imagine that it is a century-old Wulin.
