Sonora VHV Mountain Marches

Some more folks to thank for supporting the mountain Marches program. Big thank you to Bearvault of San Diego CA for sending us one of their bear canisters. Many locations in our area require bear canisters for camping in order to keep the campers fed and the bears safe. Secondly, Bemco was generous enough to send us a new backpackers oven! I've been using these ovens for the last several years to make everything from pizzas and calzones to birthday cakes out on the trail.

A HUGE THANK YOU to REI Sacramento's community gear donation program for sending us two Half Dome tents!! We're going to get some great use out of these tents this season.

Our first trip of 2016!! Marine Corps veteran Steve joined us for a snowy four day backpacking trip into the Stanislaus National Forest and Emigrant Wilderness. Despite the snow we enjoyed calm and clear nights for stargazing and fresh baked chicken pot pie and apple pie for dessert. Trips are currently being booked for 2016 spring/summer seasons, make sure you're on the list!!

These pictures are from our fall 2015 trip with U.S Army veteran Jeremy. We spent our time taking in the beautiful scenery,taking day hikes into the surrounding mountains and taking a well deserved rest in the hammocks. The weather was great and the new calzone recipe was a hit!
