20 years ago today, the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) was established to combat trafficking in persons, a contemporary manifestation of slavery. On... this 20th anniversary we recognize and honor the survivors and advocates who were integral to ensuring the establishment of the initial federal legislation. #WeAreFresnoEOC #CVAHT #TVPA #EndHumanTrafficking #EndSexualExploitation If you, or someone you know/see is a potential victim of Human Trafficking, you can call the National #HumanTraffickingHotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text "HELP" to 233733.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we have a special virtual feature for you all. Our Mariposa County District Attorney Walter Wall, County Supervisor District 1 Rosemarie Smallcombe, Mariposa County Sheriff-Coroner Doug Binnewies, Miwumati Family Healing Center Managing Director Clay River, and MCS Legal Advocate Tori Leanos are discussing the effects of domestic violence and COVID-19 in our rural community. Domestic Violence has been a problem in our county f...or a long time, however, throwing COVID into the mix, we have and are waiting to see increases in reports as people are stuck at home with their abusers with limited resources. Join us as we discuss these important topics. At this time, the panelists will not be taking questions. However, if you have any questions, please comment on this post and we will respond with an answer. Thank you all for the support and hope to see you tune in!
