In 1989, I thought I had gone to Design heaven when I came upon the newly opened, Conran’s Habitat home store at the Beverly Center, here in Los Angeles. It was way before it’s time and I felt no one ‘got’ it. It closed a mere three years later. Though I was in the music industry at the time, I told myself that one day with any luck, I’d open a home decor store. I also decided that Terence Conran would be my Design mentor from afar. And he was. From his personal style, his beautiful homes, his stores, his books, his love of gardens, I devoured anything on him. 25 years later in 2014, I opened Motti Casa. And a London store is still a dream. Because if a cool Brit can cross the pond and inspire me, this American girl can continue to dream...Rest In Peace, Sir Terence Conran
