Reason #2 why what we do matters: Testimonial from a dad we assisted "My son was two when his mother left us. It was 2015 and i was a young father of 25 trying ...to work a night shift, pay rent, buy diapers, baby food and toys with just enough left over for myself to eat 2 meals a day. I felt like a failure being unable to provide adequately for my infant son. I had reached out to many organizations, such as WIC and been rejected on the grounds that as a single FATHER i didn't qualify since WIC was for women infants and children.... Even when i pleaded just for baby food. Out of desperation i applied to every aid organization and the only reply i ever got was from mothers helpers. In no time i had people coming to my place (i didn't have a car at the time) bringing in a wave of supplies. Food, clothes and clean toys for my son poured in. Not to mention the moral support i received. I wasn't alone anymore, someone cared and even though they never met me before we shared the common bond of love of children. I am forever in the debt of these people. They provide critical help to so many people in a way that only dedicated good hearted people with a noble cause can.
