The GENZLER AMPLIFICATION pedal line will explore a variety of pedal concepts based on their decades of collaboration together, looking back into hundreds of pages of their old design ideas, and to explore interesting circuits that were started but never used, blending them with new innovations. A retrospective of sorts, this is a chance to dig into their collective pasts to develop what they feel players would use and appreciate, going forward. And now, the introduction of the second model in the line - the Re/Q DUAL FUNCTION EQUALIZATION pedal, which offers 2 specific and separate filter networks, HPF and LPF filters with on/off switching and a 5 band EQ network, with its own on/off switching. And the EQ network provides an EQ Output level of +/- 9dB. STEVE W. RABE, aka S.W.R.: I learned yesterday the sad news that the founder and essential sonic creator of the bass amplifier company SWR, Steve W. Rabe, has p...assed away. As some following here know, I worked for SWR for quite a while, from 1997-2005, encompassing eight years, and three different entity configurations. I was, am, and remain extremely grateful for everything I learned about business and life in those times, lessons that still ring true for me today. But before any of that, I was a 20-year-old wide-eyed bassist at Berklee College Of Music who’d just heard the best live bass sound of my life. It was an SWR SM-400 amp and a Goliath II 4x10 speaker cabinet. I would later learn that Steve’s entire professional career - years of designing circuitry at Acoustic, and admiring the Grateful Dead’s audiophile-quality treatment of live bass sound - went into me having the experience of hearing that rig and saying to myself, That’s what I want to sound like. Four years later, I was living in Los Angeles as the proudest young SWR endorsing artist on my block. Three years later, I was broke and needed a job, and shortly thereafter I was testing SM-400 amps fresh off the production line. My time working with Steve directly was fairly brief in the grand scheme of things. I believe he semi-retired shortly thereafter, and from all accounts, played a lot of golf. He sure earned it. The impact of his work in the bass community was simply enormous. I hope in some small way I did it justice. RIP.
