Morro Bay in Bloom's annual budget for plants, landscaping materials, tools and safety gear is $10,000. All of the participants are volunteers (nobody is paid) who give 5,000 hours annually to make Morro Bay look its best! Please support our group.
Everything’s coming up roses at the Roundabout! Thank you Don, Sharon, Irene, Jan, Zoe Ann, Mike, Matt, Barbara and John for a great session this morning!
You are invited to garden at Morro Bay Boulevard Roundabout tomorrow (Saturday, June 5) between 9 and 11 a.m. Many hands will make for lighter work, so we look forward to seeing you!
For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Morro Bay in Bloom, the all-volunteer civic beautification group I co-founded eight years ago that gives 5,000 hours of free labor per year to the residents and visitors of Morro Bay. I've chosen this nonprofit because our mission of making Morro Bay a more welcoming place by sharing the joy of gardening with people of all ages and abilities, installing flowering plants and caring for them, rehabilitiating neglected publi...c plazas and gateways, maintaining these areas twice weekly, planting trees and caring for them and picking up litter means a lot to me and to 60+ volunteers. Our 2021 budget for plants, landscaping materials, tools and safety gear is $10,000. I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Actually, if everyone who reads this post contributes $5 online or sends a check to P.O. Box 782, Morro Bay, CA 93443, we would could raise $10,000 together. I've included more information about Morro Bay in Bloom below. Morro Bay in Bloom is an all-volunteer, public benefit organization that is dedicated to the beautification of Morro Bay during two twice weekly two-hour sessions, twice weekly. Volunteers also schedule gardening activity on their own time to care for the planter boxes downtown, pick up litter, etc. Facebook pays all the processing fees for you, so 100% of your donation goes directly to beautification.
Way to go, Bloomies. You’re getting noticed! https://m.newtimesslo.com//morro-bay-in-bloom-bea/Content
Best of Morro Bay celebrated tomorrow (Friday). All the best people will be there. Don’t miss this virtual celebration!
Busy morning cleaning up the landscaping at Morro Bay Police Department and preparing for a new look! Before and after photos shown. Much appreciation for Teddy, Sharon, Laurel, Luke, Matt, John, Steve and Don!
Last Saturday morning’s cleanup at Harbor and Piney Streets. Strong winds during the previous week blew bark off the blue eucalyptus located across the street into the garden!
I would change tomatoes to flowers.
Close-up photos of the plants where we gardened this morning: At the Chamber of Commerce (and the closed Visitor Center).
Bloomies and McFarland High School Leos teamed up for a productive morning of gardening at Centennial Parkway! Sixteen high school students and three chaperones took on the hill beneath Centennial Stairway while the Bloomie crew of Don, Luke, Steve, Barbara, Jan, Cindy, Carrie, John and Larry gardened in the plaza. We treated the Leos to pizza at Pizza Port after our session!
It was a beautiful Fall morning yesterday for the installation of the Fall tableau!
