She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physiological Science at University of California, Los Angeles after emigrating from Moscow, Russia. Dr. Budarina completed her externships at VA Hospital in Tucson, Arizona and busy clinics in the Bronx, NY and Beverly Hills, CA. Her clinical interests include advanced o...cular disease, pre- and post-surgical care, fitting of specialty contact lenses and pediatrics. Dr. Budarina’s work on scleral contact lenses was recognized at Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2019. Dr. Budarina volunteered with Lions Club and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity where she provided vision screenings to young kids and senior citizens of New York City. She also travelled to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua to provide free eye exams to locals. In her spare time she enjoys traveling locally and internationally and trying different cuisines. Volk is a comprehensive optometric physician with a special passion for treatment of ocular disease, post-operative ocular surgical care, and the fitting of soft and specialty contact lenses. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, he emigrated to the U.S. in the early 2000s to Wisconsin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Magna Cum Laude honors at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He later received his Doctor of Optometry d...egree at Western University of Health Sciences in California, graduating top 5% in his class with Beta Sigma Kappa honors. His clinical externships at WesternU included the University Hospitals in Cleveland, Tulsa VA, Wellish Vision Institute in Las Vegas, and Vanesian Eye Care in Phelan. Dr. Volk has engaged in medical research, and his experience with specialty contact lenses has been recognized at the annual Global Specialty Lens Symposium in 2018. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. During his free time, Dr. Volk enjoys traveling and going to the beach with his girlfriend, playing drums and producing music, as well as swimming and playing basketball. In fact, accidents involving common household products cause 125,000 eye injuries each year. Ninety percent of these eye injures can be prevented through understanding, safety practices and the use of proper eye protection.... You can reduce the risks of eye injuries for yourself and other family members by using this simple checklist for different areas of your home: Indoor Safety - Provide lights and handrails to improve safety on stairs. Outdoor Safety - Inspect and remove debris from lawns before mowing. Keep paints, pesticides, fertilizers, and similar products properly stored in a secure area. Keep your tools in good condition; damaged tools should be repaired or replaced. Wear safety glasses or dust goggles to protect against flying particles, and chemical goggles to guard against exposure to fertilizers and pesticides. Chemical Safety - Wear chemical safety goggles when using hazardous solvents and detergents. Read and follow all manufacturer instructions and warning labels. Do not mix cleaning agents.
