Drop a in the comments if you're joining TONIGHT! Often staged in media or presented in an inauthentic form, Indigenous people have long endured misrepresentations of their culture in art, advertising, photography, film and television. In her series "First American Girls," for example, Cara reimagines a world where Indigenous beauty is celebrated and its diversity is acknowledged. She creates these life size, tribally specific doll boxes in collaboration with her friends and family. TONIGHT (): Cara joins artists Nitashia Johnson (Nitashia Johnson) and Morgan DeLuna at the online event Culture&Cause, where the three will share process and activism in their work. We are proud to be part of a major national research study to learn how arts, culture, and creativity fit into people’s lives during this difficult period and how cultural organizations can become better for you in the future. The questions take about 15 minutes to answer, and they’re about how you’ve been spending your time during the pandemic, what kinds of things you’re doing online, what you’re looking forward to when things get back to normal, and how arts or cultur...e organizations can help you, your family, and your community. Can you help us? https://selfserve.decipherinc.com/survey/selfserve//210301

Color can change the mood of your image. A blue filter might make your image seem more sad or gloomy. A bright yellow filter will make your image more cheerful. This weekend, try out two activities at home: DIY and color filters. Show us your best shots, and we'll get back to you with our thoughts. Think about how you can use color to create your own filter. : https://mopa.org/educate/photo-challenge-color/... #photoclub Financial support for Photo Club is provided by The County of San Diego. #youthart #YouthArtsTakeover #youtharts #youthartists #youthartlessons #kidsart #artathome #freeartprojects #artiseverywhere #YouthEducation #Curator #Curatorial #YouthArt #OpenCall #mopasd #balboapark #growingup #sandiegoliving #sandiegophotographer #sandiegogram #sandiegocounty #sandiegophotography #SanDiegoLife #sandiegoart #sandiegoartist #photographytools #photographyandart #photography4life #photographyphotoofday

We know that the traditional art museum experience can be exclusive for many audiences. Since 2014, we have worked with local communities to improve our experience for young people and for family visitors. These projects were based on research, and we made decisions based on what our communities need from our programs and exhibitions.... Help us continue innovating the museum landscape for all of us.
