Attention Monterey businesses! On September 15th, CalRecycle adjusted the threshold for AB 1826 Mandatory Commercial Organics Recycling (MORe). All businesses with 2 cubic yards of garbage service per week are required to recycle organic waste. To add organic waste services to your account, please call MCDS at (831) 372-7977. The Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program will be hosting a webinar on August 12th! Participants will learn about new loans, grants, safe cleaning practices, how to use reusable dishes safely, and more. There will also be an opportunity to enroll in a challenge rewarding businesses with free marketing and up to $500 in reimbursement for basic operational purchases.

Certified Green Business, Monterey Bay Kayaks is open for business with some new policies and changes! Enjoy a paddle out in the bay or buy a gift certificate online. Gift certificates can be applied to any tour/ rental or for use in the store when you visit.

AB 827 mandates that businesses subject to Mandatory Commercial Recycling (AB 341) or Mandatory Commercial Organics Recycling (AB 1826) include clearly labeled recycling and composting bins for customers.
