We've gotten so many questions from parents about how to handle custody and visitation issues since shelter in place started. Do I have to follow my parenting plan? What if the other parent isn't following shelter in place guidelines? How does school being closed change things? Attorney Breanna Cornwall discusses the new guidelines sent out by our own local family law judges regarding these questions. If you have questions about your own parenting plan or need to get a court order to modify it, you can schedule a legal consultation with one of our attorneys at www.attorneycornwall.com. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIDQJJESreQ&feature=youtu.be

Do you need protection from someone who is harassing you or has someone wrongly filed a restraining order request against you? These cases often move quickly through our justice system and it can be important to obtain legal representation early on before a permanent restraining order is decided. Read our blog post on civil harassment restraining orders to learn more. http://ow.ly/BheU50yYPiY

We support local businesses during shelter in place. Sharing with you all one of our amazing Carmel based yoga instructors, Kathy Muller. She's doing live online yoga classes three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays at 10:30 am). The cost of the classes is donation based and she is donating all proceeds to a charity that provides food for children that rely on school lunches (but are not getting them now that the schools are closed). Her classes are a great way to connect with others during this time that we are all sheltering in place. She is focusing on a lot of stretching to target all those areas that are stuck from working from home! Check out her website for details to sign up for the classes. www.rootsyoga.net

You may have heard the term that someone is being held in "Contempt of Court." What does that mean exactly? How is it significant in a family law case? A motion for contempt can be used to enforce family law court orders and can mean jail time for the person who has not been following the court order.
