We’d like you to meet Kerri, the newest addition to our team as a tour guide! We’re so excited to have her as a part of our MBFT FAMILY! FAVORITE DRINK:... At home I put about 2 cups of strawberries and a bunch of mint or tulsi in sparkling wine to infuse overnight in the fridge. I will always live by this combo! FAVORITE FOOD: Tamales! Sweet or savory, they are always comforting and delicious. I am vegetarian, though, so the fillings are not always traditional. Red chile jackfruit is my reigning favorite. Want to know some fun facts about Kerri? Check out our About Page (link in bio) to read more! Hopefully you get to meet her on one of our tours!

We’d like you to meet Rachael, one of our new tour guides! We’re so excited to have her as a part of our MBFT FAMILY! Favorite Drink:... Bold Cabs or any well crafted Gin cocktails, I like to say wine is my tried and true but Gin has my heart. Favorite Food: Sandwiches! You can never go wrong with a sandwich, literally anything can be put in between two slices of bread and it’s delicious. You can’t change my mind. Also I’m a total geek for anything spicy, I never really grew up with spicy food so as an adult it’s been a tasty journey getting to know all the different ways to elevate food with spice. Want to know some fun facts about Rachael? Check out our About Page to read more! https://www.montereybayfoodtours.com/about Hopefully you get to meet her on one of our tours!

Six Outdoor Patios to checkout in Monterey Co. With the days starting to feel more and more like spring, dining outside feels like a luxury at times. Not all patios are created equally, however, and we wanted to list a few of our favorites. We took into consideration the shelter from the wind, available heat lamps, views, and that little something extra that helps create those lasting memories. Follow the link below to read our latest blog post from guest blogger, Luke Young... of My Local Thrive. https://www.montereybayfoodtours.com//1g8jgst8v6cuzs96yrua Thanks Luke!

This post is dedicated just to food and drink! Photo 1 & 6 - Luqaimat or gaymat, an Emirati delicacy - sweet dumpling with date syrup. We tried this on our desert safari with Arabic coffee and two different types of tea, then we were served a feast of three different types of rice, kebabs, hummus, baba ganoush, pita and more (photo 6) all while being entertained with traditional dances. Photo 2, 4 & 7- Bab al Mansoor, ... Moroccan restaurant near the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. My Moroccan friend in Monterey suggested we try this restaurant as the creative consultant, Choumicha Chafay, is a Celebrity chef in Morocco. She also suggested that we try the pastilla, a very traditional Moroccan dish, a thin pastry filled with either chicken or seafood, it combines flavors of sweet and savory, very common in Moroccan cuisine. We also tried traditional Moroccan tea (photo 4), and a tagine (photo 7). Photo 3 & 5 - it’s not hard to find healthy food in Dubai, and I think it would be easy to be a vegetarian here! These photos are from The Scene a restaurant at Pier 7 with amazing views of the Dubai Marina and a wonderful cocktail menu that includes many infused gins! Calypso Superfood Salad Photo 8 & 9 - Strawberries from home, Watsonville, our neighboring county made it all the way here! You may not find pork in many restaurants here, but you will find an entire section of pork in the supermarket, labeled For Non-Muslims, with more pork options than you would find in any American supermarket!

With most of the world on hold while we wait for waves of Covid to pass us by, we've been looking for ways to feel like life is normal for just a bit. Luckily, the world of sports has kept turning and gives us an escape from the DIY crafts and Netflix we've been filling our time with. For this week’s post we scouted around and found a handful of great locally owned restaurants with outdoor TV's. Get your jersey on and your air-five's warmed up, these five places are ranked in order of the number of TV's on their patios, with a bit of a surprise for the last one! A day trip North included a stop at @harleyfarms for some goat cheese! We brought back feta, honey lavender chèvre and a few others! Walk around and see the goats, or schedule a tour of the farm and a picnic. There is a lovely room upstairs for private events. If you’re planning a trip, definitely take the scenic route North (or South from San Francisco) along Hwy 1 and check out Harley Farms!
