PLEASE SLOW DOWN FOR OUR STAFF MEMBERS . Montebello School Police responded to a traffic collision after a food service worker was struck while distributing lunches. Please slow down, yield for pedestrians, and follow the cone patterns. We are appreciative of the work our staff performs, so help us keep them safe.
Our department has seen a spike in school burglaries and vandalism. We encourage the community to report any trespassers or suspicious activity to our dispatch. Montebello School Police has implemented PM hour patrols in hopes of curbing these crimes. Montebello School Police: 323-887-7916

Montebello School Police hosted Active Shooter and Student Rescue training this month with both Montebello PD and Alhambra Unified School District. Always building bridges to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe. Special thank you to Ms. Sotelo and Eastmont Intermediate School for their support .
Montebello School Police officers paid their respects as MUSD alumni, Lance Corporal Marco Barranco (USMC) returned home. God bless Marco Barranco and his family .
Our department would like to express our condolences to the family, friends, and fellow Marines of Lance Corporal Marco Barranco. Lance Corporal Barranco was an MUSD alumni and hometown hero. We pray for him and his fellow Marines who also passed in this tragic incident. God bless .
Montebello PD is requesting assistance from the community. Anyone with information regarding this tragic incident is urged to call MPD. The victim in this case was a Schurr HS almuni.
The Montebello School Police is saddened by the untimely death of Mr. Sterling Schubert. Mr. Schubert was an MUSD alumni who returned to our district as a staff, faculty member, and ultimately an administrator. During his last assignment he was instrumental in standardizing Active Shooter protocols at all MUSD facilities. Our department would like to express our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. God bless you sir .

Montebello School PD officers attended a debrief hosted by Dallas PD. The focus of the presentation was responding to school shootings and improving officer training.

Montebello School Police officers attended ballistic shield training hosted by the LAPD. Ballistic shields are just one of the many tools our officers have to respond to Active Shooter threats.
Update: Class has ended at Bell Gardens Elementary and all students were escorted off campus by MUSD PD. The incident is still underway but the school has been evacuated. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support. Please direct any questions to the Bell Gardens Police Dept.
Bell Gardens Elementary is currently on lock down. The Bell Gardens Police Department is handling an incident near the campus. The school is unaffected and the lockdown is in place only as a precautionary measure. MUSD PD is on scene at the school. Specific questions can be addressed by our dispatch center. 323-887-7916.

The Montebello Police Department is seeking the community's help in identifying the below suspect. On 01/27/2020 at approximately 7 PM a male walked into Sunshi...ne Donuts, handed the clerk a note which stated that she had 10 seconds to give him all the money. At the same time the suspect pulled out a handgun from his right jacket pocket exposing the handle of a handgun to the cashier. Fearing for her life, the cashier gave the suspect $40 in US currency and six boxes of Marlboro Red cigarettes. The suspect then fled out of the location onto Poplar Avenue and out of sight. The suspects is described as a male Hispanic 20-30 years old, heavy set weighing approximately 190-200lbs with a mustache and goatee, wearing a black baseball hat with a white letter D on the front of it. He was wearing a blue jacket, blue shorts, a black T-shirt and black shoes and socks. It also appears as though his ear lobes are stretched from wearing plug style ear rings. if anyone has any information that could help identify this suspect, please call Detective Luis Martinez at 323-887-1200 x242 or email him at [email protected]. One of the many resources our Department uses to keep our campuses free of contraband is the use of detection dogs. Today, Remi walked around several of our campuses doing what he does best!
We are happy to announce that Adrian has been found and reunited with his family. Montebello School Police would like to thank all the involved agencies that contributed to this effort.
Montebello School Police Dept. is seeking the community’s help in locating Adrian Chaparro, a Schurr HS student. This investigation is being handled by the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station. On 12/28/2019 #LASPD graveyard shift Officers were dispatched to a campus due to several silent alarm activations. When Officers arrived they observed a suspec...t fleeing from the campus. A short foot pursuit ensued, as Officers noticed the suspect struggling with an unknown object concealed within his waistband. Officers safely took the suspect into custody and recovered a shotgun concealed in his pants. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were also recovered. The suspect is a convicted felon and was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm. This incident occurred during the winter break. No students or staff were affected. Great work by our officers getting another gun off the streets and our campuses.
