Construction at the SRBX: Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange Offices and Training Center is moving right along! Moniz Architecture and members of the SRBX Board hosted AIA Central Coast Emerging Professionals for an AXP Construction Tour to help them earn experience hours as they work towards their architectural license!

Alicia and Camille enjoyed a tour of Knoll's Showroom by KBM Houge at day two of Neocon 2017 in Chicago.

Alicia and Jennifer learned a lot yesterday from the speakers at the AIACV & SMPS joint seminar on how to improve presentation skills!

Our office neighbors Page&Turnbull were kind enough to give us a tour of their current renovation of the Sacramento Valley Station and Amtrak Offices. A lot of care is going into preserving the history of this station and making it grand again, and its looking great!

It's the second year that Alicia and Jennifer have attended the Top of the City Tour, part of Experience Architecture week. There always seemed to be a favorite building for the best views, last year it was the Federal Courthouse, this year the Bank of the West Tower directly on Capitol Mall was the most impressive. They also took a street level detour to sneak a peak at the exterior skin going up on the new Kings arena, it looks a lot different than the hole in the ground it was during last year's tour.

As a member of Preservation Sacramento, project designer Jennifer Harris enjoys attending their member only tours of historical buildings around town. Marshall School is an out of use schoolhouse in our office's neighborhood. It was very fun finally seeing the inside.

Atria Senior Living at El Camino Gardens is well under construction and starting to take shape! Moniz Architecture designed a fresh and modern revamp of all the common spaces for the residents, visitors and staff there.

Pecha Kucha at the Portal installation last night was a lot of fun! Some great presentations and it was very fun being out at the future Ice Blocks site.

The SMUD E-House designed by Moniz Architecture is now under construction and starting to take shape! For this project the outdated existing E-House in SMUD's Customer Service Center Lobby is being replaced a modern exhibit showcasing energy efficient lighting, appliances and thermostats as well as environmentally friendly materials for the home.

Jennifer Harris, Project Designer at Moniz Architecture has been enjoying the Construction Tours organized by the AIA Central Valley's Emerging Professionals. This week it was a tour of a converted warehouse space on R Street. Looking forward to returning to the site to see the progress in a few weeks!

Thanks to all who organized and led the tour of the Stanley Mosk Library and Court Building. Our office had a great time yesterday seeing all the time and energy that went into the renovation of this 1920's historical landmark.
