Lard crusts are so yummy! If you ever have a hankering for some amazing lard, let me know. I'll hook you up with pure, unadulterated, fresh lard from my naturally raised, organic fed Large Black Hogs. https://www.facebook.com/1000005614912//3001841773177843/

Have you ever thought about raising your own pork? Here's your chance!! Large Black Pigs are easy keepers, and make the absolute best bacon, chops, roasts, hams. Get them now, so that they finish on your summer/fall garden veggies & fruits & acorns. $125 each

Wow! I think this is the best litter of #largeblackpigs we've had. 12 lively piglets, no stillborns, 2 hours. Congratulations momma Wanda (Warbler) and papa Donald (Majestic). She's a new sow to us and I thought she might be a problem at farrowing, because she's been a bit of a nervous nellie since she came here. She's been absolutely perfect... easy births, and staying down until all pigs are born & have had sufficient time to figure out the milk bar. She may not be the prettiest sow we have, but so far, she's the best mother.

Today is the last day you will see this tent at any farmer's market. This morning, at Placerville Certified Farmer's Market, is the last opportunity that my awesome farmer's market customers ( wish there were more of you) will have the opportunity to buy pork by the cut from me. As always, I remain hopeful that I will go home with empty icechests.... hasn't happened in 3 years, but maybe today is the day. I'll be here til noon.

Well folks.... this is it. If you want to buy pork from me at the farmer's markets, you have this week & next week. After that you'll have to come to the farm in Cool. No more farmer's markets for me. I'm at the Orangevale market until dark this evening, and Placerville Farmer's Market on Saturday.
